Not yet.  Overall it's looked pretty good - since updating I haven't seen any other issues (nice work), but I just went to Doma in World of Ruin, and after the last boss there Cyan refers to his "children" (rather than child, pretty sure he only has the one.)

Just posting it here so I don't forget (sorry, might be better to keep a list and post at the end.)

Is there actually a new game+ feature?  I thought there wasn't for FF6.

-[Unknown]

Definitely keep a list but post them as you find them. That line specifically wasn't changed from Woolsey's original and I'm not sure where he got the plural sense of it. I will have it fixed for the next update.

Chronosplit

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet, but while googling something completely related I found that TWUE ended up on a January ScreenRant article.

A bit of a clickbait thing, but you're in the news!

[Unknown]

Ancient Castle - when you first arrive, a soldier says "Has his wounds healed?", which should be "Have".

When preparing to meet a certain party member's father, Celes wonders if something is "becomming" of another person, which should of course be "becoming".  Keeping these descriptions spoiler free, just in case.

Close to the end now, really haven't seen many typos.

That's awesome for sure!

I'll have those fixes in the next update. Just let me know when you have finished the game so I can update it here.

All done now, didn't find anything else.  Thanks for your work on a great way to experience this game again.

I did notice a glitch using ares in the ending sequence after a certain other character's father takes off, where the tiles at the top glitched out in a room with test tubes.  My guess is this was an emulator bug or something and probably unrelated to the patch, but thought I'd mention.

I recently tried out version 3.02, and the game goes to a black screen while the music continues to play every time I enter the first battle.  I tried all the variations that the patch came with, and they all have the same issue. I verified my ROM was version 1.0 and unheadered. I verified the ROM was good before I patched it.  The emulators I tried were SNES9x and Mednafen.

I just tested it on my end with a clean ROM. I'm not having an issue on my end and I also use SNES9x. From what I've gathered, a lot of places only have 1.1, or Rev 1 for Final Fantasy III US. Always use the one that does NOT say Rev 1.

I'd double check if it has a header. Some programs are better than others, but I always recommend tush to be sure.

If you are still having issues, let me know.

Great to know. I'll have to make the update soon. I also didn't see the glitch during that part, so it might be ares. As I stated above, I use SNES9x. If it is emulator related, I'd check with an unpatched ROM during that sequence and see if it still happens.

I found what I was doing wrong. My ROM said Revision 1, which I took to mean as version 1.0, but turns out that's not the case.  It works after finding the proper ROM.  Thanks for the assistance, plus for making this great hack.  Compatible with SNES classic for anyone interested.

So glad that you got it working. I added a bit of extra detail in the Read Me for 3.03 to help give a little clarity on Version 1.0 and how some places list it. I hope that helps others who run into the same issue.

I made changes to those text errors and I now have Version 3.03 submitted for approval. Thanks again!

President bossk

Assuming no issues crop up, is this going to be the last version of this hack?

That was the intent with 3.0, with the understanding that if any issues do arise I will still take care of them as needed.

That said, 3.03 is available for download!

I'm performing my first playthrough of this patch, using 3.03, and absolutely loving it so far. A few observations so far:

1. Unlike other yelps of pain I've seen so far, the one that occurs during the first Ultros fight if you hit him with fire is "yaaaouch" instead of "yeeeeouch". I prefer the latter (with 'e's); the former strikes me oddly.

2. There's a textual error with the ghost NPC that appears at the entrance to Zozo after the cutscene following your introduction to Ramuh. One of the pages of text is the following:
When equipped, some espers will raise qualities (Strength, HP, MP etc.) to their maximum limits at the next "level up."

There's two issues - first, the stat is referred to as "Vigor" in-game, not "Strength". Second, they don't "raise a quality to their maximum limits", rather they provide a permanent boost. I'd recommend the following wording:
When equipped, some espers will provide a permanent boost to an aspect of your ability (such as Vigor or Max HP) when you gain a level.

If that's too many characters, then I'd suggest:
When equipped, some espers will provide a permanent boost to an ability (such as Vigor or Max HP) when you gain a level.

As I continue my playthrough, I'll add anything else I see to this thread. Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it so far.

Both of those were unchanged from Woolsey, and I thought they conveyed what was needed well enough. However, the level up does sound better as a permanent boost to an ability all things considered. That's been changed for the next update.

I always took Ultros as if he was combining "YAH!" with "OUCH!" in his own weird way of yelping in pain since it would be proper to have the e's. I can change it, but what does everyone think?

If you find anything else, let me know!

Technical question:

Everytime I patch a ROM (SNES and MD) I ever use a tool called UCON64 (with FrontEnd 1.1, Windows 7) to fix the checksum. I don't remember if it happened on the previous patches, but with the latest one the checksum fix/correction is not working. UCON64 says it was done, but my SNES9X 1.57 keep telling me BAD CHECKSUM.

Any suggestions?
Thank you!

I honestly would not know. However, you might have better luck with this Utility. Hope it helps.

A few more notes so far...

When the party and Impresario are discussing the opera plan, they should say that Setzer will likely appear at the climax of "Act 1", not "Scene 1"

For the following line immediately following "Maria's" abduction, the speaker should be Locke (Celes was already taken away and is offscreen)
Celes: That's HIM?!

Cid asking if Celes is a spy during the cutscene in the Magitek Research Facility - was this supposed to be someone in the party asking this to Cid?

The special attack "Will of the Wisp" (one of the Dusk Requiem dance effects) should be "Will-o'-the-Wisp" or "Will-o'-wisp" (see Wikipedia)

During the airship cutscene after Sealed Cave, there is a blank page of text between "Um, Setzer" and "I've lost control!"

edit: One more for now - Sketching the enemy Bonnacon can yield the attack "Dijestive" which should likely be "Digestive"

Thanks for dilligently combing through the game! Lots of great suggestions for fixes.

Thanks so much for combing through the game. Those will all be fixed for the next update.

I took a look at the lines that needed to be changed and I've fixed most of them. I know you're still working through the game but I just wanted to respond about a couple of them.

Celes IS speaking off camera there with the "That's HIM?" even though the line doesn't seem to make sense. A closer translation is actually her saying "Whaaaat thhhhe...?!" The GBA translates it as "Whaaaa..."

Dijestive is really funny looking further into it. Yes its now Digestive to be short for Digestive Fluid as it is in GBA. In mythology, a bonnacon doesn't spray vomit, but acidic feces!

Yes, Cid is asking that. But I think the way its written might sound confusing as he's supposed to be asking her if she infiltrated the Returners as a spy. That's been fixed now.
