Translations: Tales of the Tempest (NDS) Patch Released

Absolute Zero has released our third complete Tales translation - Tales of the Tempest for the Nintendo DS.

The translation was completed in-line with localization standards for the series and includes battle and karaoke subtitles.

The patch is provided in xdelta format. Instructions are included in the readme.

Eeeeveeeer. Seriously. Go have a kid and force the kid to somehow develop a game when they're 2 years old. It will be a better experience for all involved than this. It will also have better writing.

This game is a perfect case study in all the ways you can screw up during game development.

Even the fucking music is insipid. Tales of Innocence, while overall the worse game, has better music than this piece of shit. The tunes are often nonsensical, there's no boss tune, the only time the game has a song that sounds truly anything like special battle music is in the 30 floor dungeon which has that tune THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DUNGEON'S RANDOM BATTLES, the actual final boss tune is nothing special at all.

Oh, and the hidden 30 floor dungeon? It's mostly stronger versions of the previous enemies and each five floors you get an encounter that is... Drum roll please

A stronger version of something you've encountered before. Even the last boss in the dungeon.

Also, the last several floors have uber equipment for all but one character. The second one in the game no less.

The game seriously feels WORSE than those "RPG mini-games" you can unlock/find at various locations in other "proper" games (ie. stuff like the Mog House in Final Fantasy VII's Gold Saucer and such)

Yeah, there's no contest. It's worse than almost every mini-RPG game mode ever if only for one reason: Those are meant to be little things in addition to the game(With the notable exception of the Quest Mode in Ehrgeiz's PSX port, where it basically shared equal developmental focus, though not equal billing).

This? This was a full blown retail product that sold for standard Japanese DS cart prices.

Props to Absolute Zero for all the work they did and all the pain they went through. This is the best April Fools' Day  prank gift I've ever received. I look forward to playing this piece of crap game, if only to admire the dedication of the a0 team.

Tales of Hearts is amazing. Almost no one has bad things to say about Tales of Hearts.

Who said Tales of Hearts is bad? Literally Hearts is one of the best DS games and a great Tales game too.
