a.k.a Legend of the Doublemoon

In my attempt to understand NES/SNES, I've decided to take on this project. I normally only work on GBC/GBA games however I found this one to be quite interesting and the unfinished translation had a very low attempt at making this look professionally translated.

Here are a few screenies of before and after to show current progress. As you can see, there have been a bit of menu changes with expansion, relocation and repointering of menu contents.

JAPANESE

Currently looking for a Japanese translator to work on a few dialogue scripts. I would prefer 1-2 translators to keep the translation consistent.

That game is somewhere in Dynamic-Designs and Bongo`'s queue.

Yes, it was also translated by aishsha for them a few years ago. Well, at least the main script. I guess a small block of text was found after the fact and still remains untranslated.

It's up to you. No one can really 'claim' games. You're free to work on it if you want. Do you have the script translated already?

Well, it is a tricky situation. If you decided to continue on your own, there's no guarantee you would finish before them. They do seem to be a step or two ahead of you. Other than dropping the project, you could always see if they are receptive to working with you.

It could also spur them to release their own version after your's. This happened once before with Mystic Ark. DD released their version, then Gideon decided to finish his version.

Two versions of the same translation by two different groups ain't really a bad thing unless they're both unfinished ala Dragon Quest 5 SNES...

I don't recall Dragon Quest V being unfinished.  Perhaps you mean Dragon Quest VI?

Pikachumanson

That might be it. I'm not exactly a DQ fan, nor was I really around in the translation community when that was going on so I missed it.

If you'd actually been around for the so-called wars, you'd know that it wasn't so much a war as it was a bit of a rumpus.

Jazz

The only wars I remember back in the day were for the Pokemon games and they were destined to have english releases lol. Back when thingy, notepad, atlas and tile layer were your only friends.

I know, i was a lurker on quite a few forums back then. I was too busy being stuck on Neo Demiforce to join anywhere else.

If you'd actually been involved in them, you might come up with a different word. :P

Well back on track, are you still going to work on this game?

I was very deliberate in my word choice! And I sort of was involved, just not on the level of any of the Square projects. It mostly just came down to a bunch of kids hemming and hawing at each other when they should have at least been attempting to collaborate.
