I've been so excited for this project, that I made a Lightscribe label to burn the "English Version" of Princess Crown! I'm still anxiously awaiting when I can pop it in my Saturn :D

I scanned my original CD and edited it in Photoshop to create the Lightscribe label. If anyone wants it, please message me and I can send it. It's about 5 MBs.

I haven't played Princess Crown since I beat it back in ~1999. Maybe a 20 year anniversary playthrough when it's translated!

Very nice.

Guys

I know this is an old topic but I was looking for Princess Crown subbed and found this thread  on Google. I tried for several times to apply the translation with no success at all. I wasn´t able to make cmake works at all. Can anyone help me out? Is there an easy way, like a exe which does all the work for me  :)

This is absolutely glorious. I have to ask, was this made in game or photoshop? Either way its brilliant. :D

Good edit. Yeah sorry guys for the lack of updates. We're still working on it even though it's been slow going.

You are welcomed to use that font if you want :)

I want to make a save file with all scenario books unlocked, I tried applying the translation but CMAKE gave me a bunch of errors. Is there a compiled xdelta patch made that I might have missed?

In the meantime, I'm currently playing the game in Japanese. Let me know if there's anything you would like me to test or try.

ArkthePieKing

Oh no no no Cyber, no apologies needed at all. We're all super ecstatic that you're using your free time to give us something this great. To chime in with reyvgm I'd love to offer whatever help I can.

Couldn't wait. In case anyone needs it, here's a save with all books open and saved at the last possible point for each book:

By the way CyberWarriorX, what is the name of the team member that translated all the dialogue?

That would be me.  8)

I've test played the game once using the old font and print routine. The translation is somewhat ironed out thanks to that. However, one big step that remains is adjusting things based on the final print routine and font. At least with the old print routine, the text boxes were pretty tight on space.

Nice work on the pics, by the way.

Ah I see, nice to hear about how it's been progressing. I just wanted to thank you and CyberWarriorX, specially for making the files public. Thanks to the translations docs I was able to figure out what to do on certain places I was stuck on.

Glad you liked the pics, if only inserting a translation was as easy as pasting English font on top of the Japanese one :)

Would it be okay with you if I used the translated text to insert it in some images for my site? Giving proper credit, of course.

I would be interested with this hack, if it wasn't for the fact that the Sega Saturn emulators (SSF, Yabause) weren't so demanding with their disc drive.

I've seen people run this game on Android even and it seemed fine. I don't know anything about the emulator however. I just want to play on the modded Saturn so I hope that works out fine.

^ I meant the Sega Saturn emulators for Windows.

What I'm implying is if it can run on Android it should be able to run on Windows just as well or better.

Are you sure it's Gradriel and not something like "Galadriel"?

Try ripping the Image and using  virtual disc drive software like daemon tools.

See? That's my only issue. Most console emulators that require ISO images don't have to go to a process of ripping an ISO, mounting them with Daemon tools, and then playing them. ePSXe, PCSX2, nullDC, and Dolphin doesn't have to go through this process. You just play the ISO files and that's it.

If only there was a Sega Saturn emulator that doesn't have this tedious process of installing ISO images, just to play them.
