If you do successfully translate the Saturn version, will you be able to work on the PSP version? i have a physical copy that is just begging to be played!

I have a weird theory on how you may be able to get it to work.

If you recall Killzone Liberation had a bonus downloadable mission that can be added on to the game through a self-upadater. i think if you modify that to function as an update for Princess Crown it may work in getting english text that way.

Just a thought.

GOD SPEED! you are doing a world of good!

Overlord Gehist:
It's still ongoing. I still have some images to dump as I mentioned some posts further back. Normally it'd be a simple job but the original programmers decided they'd be a bit cute in the design. Obviously the game looks great as a result, but it makes my job more difficult. After that they need to be translated along with whatever left over strings need translating and then proofing, etc.

Sam has been switching back and forth between other projects and is currently trying to finish up another project before switching back to PC. Hopefully I'll have everything ready for him at that point.

LoganN64:
It's been quite a while since I've looked at the PSP version but from what I remember it wasn't exactly a simple copying job for the translation. Also I really have no plans on working on the PSP version. However once we're done with the Saturn version we should be able to share what we have with whatever team ends up taking it on.

Thanks everyone for your continued support.  :)

Playing translated games on Saturn is slowing becoming a reality. First Shining Force III, now Dragon Force II...

Princess Crown is a game that I really love. My favorite from Vanillaware in fact.

I am looking forward to this patch, and wish you the best of luck

I have also seen that you are the one behind Pseudo Saturn. That's very impressive work.
However, I will stick to my method to play translated games without any mods ;)

LoganN64

I feel like the patch is nearing completion, i can practically taste it!

Ahhhh, ha ha ha haaaaa.

This gave me the chuckle I needed today. :D

Once this is done, I wish could play it, plus other Saturn games.

But alas, CyberWarriorX's Yabause emulator apparently doesn't work on legacy PC's.

That's odd, my main rig is an old PC(2009) and Yabause works fine. I see your post on the Yabause forum. I'll post a proper reply there.

From reading trough that forum, I think that you are having driver issues. Your PC is good enough to run Yabause (even Dolphin). ;)

I noticed.

I don't know if any of this work can be ported over to the PSP version, but - thanks for keeping up with this project!!!

Here is the github for the translation:

https://github.com/cyberwarriorx/pcrown

A brave soul could patch what is done so far to see how it plays.

Hello, I will try this next week I think.

I have checked the code and files in github. There is a list of translated files that looks huge. I clicked many of them, randomly, and everything I saw was already in English.

How far are you in the translation process ? 50% ? 90% ? Just to have an idea.

I will first try it on a emulator, and if I can get it to work, on my Saturn. I have the game, so I will use my copy to apply the patch. I will update this next week when I do it.

Hi. I'm the Japanese-to-English language translator for this project.

It is not finished yet. What you see is not intended for play.

The project files are shared by CyberWarriorX to make it easy for people to help him with the hacking side.

If you think you can do that, by all means, take a look and get in touch.

If not, there really is nothing to do but wait. Please do not attempt to play the game as it is. Besides it being against our wishes, you'll find that it crashes after the 2nd boss, and in many other places.

The English script is completed in draft form and partially edited, and it is playable in-game, but there remain a number of hurdles to clear before we are finished.

Thanks for your interest.

ArkthePieKing

Thanks very much for the update SamIAm! I know myself and a lot of others have been eager for some kind of news on the project and this was just the thing to get my spirits up after a pretty crappy day. :D
