Crystal version is my favorite. It's the one I spent the most time on I literally wore out the battery on not one but two copies of it and put the maximum 255 hours on a third copy of it.
Nice, have you ever played or seen Super Mystery Dungeon?

Hi all. How are you doing?

Alkali Man OG

hi. I decided to see what this community is like.

Pariston

Hello, this is so late. Still hello to all  :)

jomteon

Hi all! I've been poking my nose into this community for many years, but never made an account, and never made a serious attempt at hacking/translating games until now—though the interest has always been there.  If I have any talent in this area, it's probably translation (Japanese/Spanish>English), but I have a lot of passion for the technical side.

Currently trying to find my niche.  SNES is what I'd like to work on, but whooo-eeee, the learning curve is steep as heck (I'm very eager to learn though, and have been making some headway; but, like, I haven't even been able to crack the meager bit of text in Libble Rabble). I'm trying my hand at finding some remaining "low hanging fruit" on the NES for now, just to get my feet wet. I'm open to learning about hacking/translating on other consoles, but the NES/SNES/GB/Genesis stick at the front of my mind, largely due to nostalgia.

About me in general... I'm in my mid-30s and my most defining characteristic is that I have none. I listen to all types of music, enjoy all types of movies; I haven't stayed in the same field, much less the same job for more than 18 months; I like video games, but I truly suck at them, and spend vastly more time reading/watching about games than I do actually playing. Somewhat unusual: I unicycle, I'm very knowledgeable about coffee/sake/shochu, and I like to travel extensively.

I hope to learn a lot from this community and hopefully contribute meaningfully as well, once I have some more experience.

OmegaKatanaXIII

Hello my name is OmegaKatana XIII and I been playing video games since I N64 days around 1997. My favorite types of video games are JRPG, 2D fighting games, platformers, shoot em ups, and games that feature giant robots in them yes I'm a mecha anime fan as well loved Gundam and the Macross series.

The Beaky Buccaneer

I've been here for over a year, but I just realised that I never posted an introduction in here! So, hi, I'm The Beaky Buccaneer. I like penguins, pirates, and platformers - and also alliteration, apparently. :D

I'm not a programmer or a ROM-hacker (not for lack of trying - it's just not my strength, and I can't imagine anything that I'd want to make even if it was!), but after getting more into ROM-hacks than ever during the disruptions of 2020 and onwards, I wanted to give something back in the form of reviews of hacks that I've enjoyed, because I've found the user-reviews here to be very helpful in finding hacks that I want to play.

I started gaming on the Commodore 64 over 30 years ago, and I can still remember the immense loading-times of its cassette-tapes - just about any other gaming storage-media seems fast compared to those! My favourite genres include platformers, racers, and a whole lot of stuff that falls under the far-reaching definition of "arcade-style".

RyanD

Hello! I too am not really a programmer or hacker, I've mostly focused on pixel art, but I've always wanted to make a rom hack of some kind.

Lately I've been seeing so many cool hacks that have really motivated me to look into it again, then one specific tool in a youtube video caught my attention, seemed simple enough to not be intimidating but interesting enough to keep me motivated so I figured now would be a good time to start.

TheouAegis

Probably won't see too much of me around here, but my name has been around the internet for a few years now. Wasting away into the obscurity of old age by studying NES game code without any idea what I'm actually looking at. And then I get bored and put up with my wife until it's time for bed. I'm so scatter-brained, I feel bad for anyone that tries to follow my rambling blog posts.

:woot!:

radicaldreamerr

Hello!
My name's Adrian but I go by "radicaldreamerr" online.
I'm a huge fan of SNES/PS1/Saturn RPGs and series like DQ, Lunar, Tengai Makyou, SaGa, Sakura Wars, Grandia... you name it.

I made an account on here because I decided to take on a personal project, to make a translation of Tengai Makyou IV for Saturn/PSP.
I have absolutely zero hacking/editing skills but I do know some Japanese (JLPT N3, kiiiinda toward N2) so I'm willing to offer my help on that front.

I hope I'll be able to find some partner in crime  and maybe even some friends, who knows!

Howdy! Just a guy interested in romhacking. That's all :)

Skyro14x
