I hope this prompts Sony to put PS2 backward compatibility back into PS3. (well, the newer models) The older models had partial PS2 hardware while the rest was achieved by software emulation. Given the PS3's specs, it could probably pull off PS2 support on software emulation alone.

Unfortunately Sony would rather you buy a new TV to have that capability:

Granted that's 2 years old now, but it's the last time I can recall Sony putting any PS2 backwards compatibility into anything.
