Dumping dsiware

I heard hackers have done it, but the roms are useless because their locked to the dsi they are downloaded to, but couldn't you find the byte that controls which dsi it can run on by dumping the same game from 2 different dsi's and then compare them to find the byte?

It's more likely that the software is locked with a 64/128/256/etc bit encryption key unique to each system, which itself is likely locked away behind several layers of protection inside the system's firmware.
