Baseball Simulator 2012 (NES)

EDIT: The Public Release of Baseball Simulator 2012 has been added to the romhacking database. It can be found here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/943/
It requires a clean copy of "Baseball Simulator 1.000"

An overhaul/update to the BEST baseball title for the NES, Baseball Simulator 1.000.

Generic teams and players have been replaced by MLB team names, logos and players.

The game's original "Ultra Teams" have been replaced by classic MLB squads such as the '27 Yankees and the Big Red Machine:


Also, some of the other in-game graphics have been updated:

As of now, I'm working on translating the game's pitching stats (speed, ERA, left curve, right curve, fork and stamina), to solid statistics from MLB.

Also hope to swap some palettes, though it seems the game attribute tables are compressed within the rom, so it may take some digging/learning on my part.

If I can figure out the programming, hope to have it done by playoffs.

Quick update to some palettes, with an assist by Proveaux:


Batter and Pitcher Statistics Compiled, just waiting to plug them into the hex.

After that, the only thing left is to fix jersey colors and do some title screen tweaks!

Thanks. Once I figured out how the PPU actually works, all the palette/color issues became trivial. Now its just down to the tedious task of plugging in player data. I think I should have a beta .ips by monday.

I don't know why you didn't use something like "Legends  League" for the all-time teams instead of "Star     League", because the huge gap between the words is kind of unsightly.

It was my intention to name the last league "Legends," but the rom data only allowed for five characters. Not being versed enough in altering pointer data to expand the line to allow more characters, I decided go with "Star" and be done with it.

Well, it's a shame then that nobody offered to help you with it, because it certainly would have looked (and sounded) much better.
