version 0.6 (08.03.2013)

Our page of this hack
Download xdelta patch
Download exe patch
Download ips patch
Several videos

This hack is designed to bring a stripped-down version of the game with SMD to the arcade as close as possible.
At the moment, is not the final version of the hack, because have not yet implemented all. In the future, will be updated.
sorry for my english  :)

You make some nice hacks Nemesis_c!

Keep up the great work.

If you like them, you should put together a nice readme and submit them. ;)

(I meant to do that with Mr. Nemesis's other patches, but you know, stuff.)
This signature is an illusion and is a trap devisut by Satan. Go ahead dauntlessly! Make rapid progres!

Very cool. The only thing that could make it cooler would be to add the female khameleon.

I get an illegal instruction error, and I've tried two different patch programs.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong?  I think I've got the right ROM as well... it's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (U) [!].zip, right?

Did you extract the rom from the .zip file?

It is not the final version. So as soon as we release a final patch, it will be uploaded there :)
Sorry, my English isn't very good

Yes.  I'm getting this error message.

I'm using ips XP to apply the patch, and tried a different patcher on another computer.  Still no dice.  I mean, it's not a HUGE deal, since I can play Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on other systems or even MAME if necessary, but it's still kind of disheartening.  I remember renting UMK3 back in the day and was hugely disappointed by everything the designers took out.  How do you make a conversion of Ultimate Mortal Kombat that's less ultimate than Mortal Kombat 3?  Midway found a way.

After some research. It is possible to play this hack.

Simply patch the rom with LunarIPS and use a hacked emulator to support 4+MB roms as the game goes a bit over the size limit.

The Emulators can be found here.: http://umk3.hacking-cult.org/eng/download.htm

Quick question... has anyone ever attempted to rip the sprites from MK Mythologies and use them in one of these UMK3/MKT hacks?

BillyTime! Games

I believe so but I could be wrong.

A lesser known UMK3 Hack, MK Revelations featured a playable Quan Chi. However his sprites could have been custom. I never made it too far past the death traps in that game.

To be fair it was not their fault. Understand that ROM memory cost alot of money. The game was already using up a 32 megabit ROM with Mortal Kombat 3. Then they needed to add new stages and new characters. They just didn't have the room so they had to cut out what they could. If they had bumped up the amount of ROM used they could have avoided the cuts but it would also have made the game more expensive to produce and either less profitable or more expensive to the consumer and perhaps if more expensive it would sell less and again be less profitable. This is the same case with the SNES version.

Atleast it's here now though right?

Now that there are more emulators that support this we should allow this hack on the main site. Here's a list of emulators I've heard are compatible with the hack. I found most of these by googling.

==Computer==
Gens 2.11 (hacked with support of roms over 4mb)
Gens32 Surreal version 1.69
Gens version 2.12 (Hacked with support of roms over 4mb)
Dgen version 1.21 (with errors)
Gens Plus! version undetermined
Picodrive version 1.45a

==Other systems==
PICODRIVE ENG version 1.35 (Symbian OS 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 s60v3 smartphones)
Neogenesis version 22 (Xbox)
Pico Drive version 0.47    (Windows Mobile)
Pico Drive version 1.51 (PSP)
Gens Plus version 16-07-08 (Wii)
MD Emu version undetermined (iphone)

I know the patch will be huge but I think the max of file size is 30 MB so it should be acceptable. Another reason this should be accepted is the game works on real hardware if a custom cart is made. Here's video proof:

http://www.tvclip.biz/video/2bt5HiaE7-0/3721-umk-3-ultimate-mk-trilogy-play-on-real-hardware.html

Edit: Disregard, I thought this was a thread for Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

Edit 2: Wow, great hack. I wish it were complete so we could add it to the site.

Edit 3: You should consider switching to xdelta. It really brings down the file size. The IPS patch is 3,81 MB zipped and the xdelta patch is 1.33 MB zipped. XDelta is good cause it takes into account moved data so it don't copy original code.

I hope this is better than that cluster fuck Ultimate MK Trilogy hack.

I thought everyone loved UMKT. Speaking of which, it is now on the site: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1059/

New version available.
Check out.
Please, someone test it on real Hardware. Intersting direction: sound.

I think the last version didn't have the arcade version intros. I assume this version does. Should be a good patch.

BillyTime! Games

This patch must go on my xbox immediately! Thank you much.

It may not matter now that we have emulators these days but since there is already a designated block button, have you thought about a pause option?

Nothing fancy. Dim the screens brightness and the action stops.
