It's for the solar system.

All hail to the glory of our Sun, that we might bask in Her radiance, for She is the sole reason we have angry fishes who want to start fights with the dwarves.

I was going to register just to post in this thread, but I found out I already had an account.

PLEASE keep working on this game! I've wanted to play it ever since there was a spread on it in Nintendo Power when it was brand new. This is so awesome!

It's gonna be hard to keep working on the game if Tashi doesn't come back, since it's largely his work. Does anyone know where he's gone, or if he's still around? I'd really like to see this finished but I don't want for us to start working on it without him only for him to come back and think we've stolen/taken credit for his work, or whatever.

Oh, that's cool. Maybe if I sent him e-mails that weren't huge playtest reports he'd be more inclined to read 'em, hah.

Hi, I'm translating / hacking the SNES game Marvelous - mou hitotsu no takarajima. I feel like I've made enough progress and can see far enough down the road to merit a thread.

Tashi has been appearing on the IRC chat, so he's alive. If you wish to play test it, I'd suggest PMing him or finding him on IRC rather than posting about it in the thread.

Hey everybody, sadly not a whole lot to report on the ROM hacking progress. I've been in like 6 different countries since my last post in this thread, but I should be settling down for a little while here in Japan. I'm mostly caught up on typos and notes people have been nice enough to send to me, and I made a new patch. I've basically forgotten everything I used to know about rom hacking, so let's cross our fingers and hope I did it right. I sent out my playtest packet to everyone who asked for it (I think. If I missed you, please let me know).

Thanks for your continued interest and support. It makes me glad I devote so many hours to this sort of a hobby.

Oh wow, nice. Was this for leisure or because you had no choice? If you don't mind sharing, what countries did you go? Either way, travelling should always be a fun experience.  I'm pretty sure once you return to Rom Hacking, it will all come back to you.

Admittedly I was just passing through some of the countries, but it still counts!

Most of my travels were leisurely and pleasant. I was in Chile for 6mos for work, and as that was finishing up, I was finishing up my first draft translation and patch, but left shortly after sending that out to a few playtesters to go to Disney World, but it's a long flight and I stopped in Panama along the way. Then I went to Mexico for a couple weeks (a vacation after Disney World.. vacations can be tiring, too!) Then I went home to the USA to visit family and friends, after which time I stopped in Toronto and Vancouver before landing in Japan, where I shall live as long as my tourist non-visa status allows or until I find employment elsewhere.

Simpler, diagram form:

Chile (start rom hacking) -> Panama -> USA -> Mexico -> USA -> Canada -> Japan (restart rom hacking)

Just thought I would post this here in case it helps anyone. I hacked the action selection menu graphics a couple years ago, so I went back and made an ips patch for it today after reading this article (seeing that the screenshots included an unfinished action selection menu). Yes, I know it's probably a little late for this, lol... Included is a patch for the original game and another that works for all of the BS Marvelous Course titles (tested on Weeks 1-4 of Camp Arnold and Weeks 1-4 of the Time Athletic Course).

Here's a link to the files:

Your work looks great tashi!! I would be interested in helping you test your translation. :)
