Sorry for necro posting but I was just thinking about this game and was wondering what the current status of this game is and if its still being worked on. Does Optomon still come on this site and if he still does, can he or someone who is working on this project give us a little update please?

It's been on hiatus for about a year, and halted indefinitely, while we are working on smaller scale projects.

It's not a shame.

A shame is giving up and throwing it in the trash and never working on it again. A shame is not having enough time to work on something you've put a half a decade of work into because the vast majority of the world around thinks you're wasting your time. A shame is having to listen to people tell you it's a shame that it's not finished yet because their thumbs hurt from twiddling them too long.

It's good to hear you're not giving up on this at least. I'm looking forward to when progress on this resumes, I always thought it was really neat.

Pyronaut, is what it's called now, right?

I saw a gameplay video a year ago, and I never could find it again.
Now, I finally found the name of the hack!

A CV2 hack, am I right?

Didn't see this earlier, but damn, this looks a ton better than the original game was. Love the new graphics and animations and level design here.

because the vast majority of the world around thinks you're wasting your time.

I can relate to that!  It's amazing how many truly wasteful hobbies people partake in that are fully acceptable to most people (memorizing sporting stats anyone?) yet we pour our creative talents into a real tangible form of art (game art - music, graphics, and so forth) and get dismissed as pursuing some sort of wasteful juvenile pastime.  I could spend a day painting a digital painting and never get any grief or odd reaction from anyone (except on time spent), if I spend a day creating graphics or gaming content the reaction is usually far from the same unfortunately..... (end rant)  >:(

Creating a game is creating art.
