I love them, the double tap running alone is so fun to play with, and that's without mentionning everything else.

But yeah, definitely not worth the trouble.

Continues to hacking SotN.

Registered (for now) literally just to discuss this hack.

I currently run all of my retro consoles through the OSSC lag-free linemultiplier. I've been meaning to play through SOTN again, but even with cropped x5 scan 1080p mode, there are still borders present. I would absolutely love to be able to play through SOTN without them.

Any chance of a patch? Please?

Yes, but it will be later. I need to finalize many tiles maps and other. For now the normal castle is almost ready. The inverted castle is next.

I'm using another Zelda hack as a base I found years ago, no randomized dungeons in this one, so I gotta get into editing the overworld first then I'll tackle the dungeons...

I started a palette restoration project for The Lost Vikings GBA:

Any gameplay differences in that port?

The GBA version uses save memory instead of passwords.

But the control is a bit more difficult as they gave the R Button a double purpose as both to switch characters (as in the original) as well as used as a shift key for the A and B button functions. (to compensate for the missing X and Y buttons from the SNES)

Interesting, thanks.

Using Tiled Map Editor to work with FF: Dawn of Souls maps:

For the moment map data must still be extracted and inserted by hand, but it's still a big step up from hex editing.

The Saturn areas into PSX SotN??? I'm in. Will you also include Maria's boss battle like in the PSP port?

No, in the PSX version under the hatch there are only two rooms. Maria as a boss is not available.

Yeah. I noticed

By the way, your signature for a link site is not working anymore. Just want you to know.

Blackthorne GBA palette restoration

Pennywise

I accidentally stumbled upon this secret test screen a while back and I've finally gotten it hacked and translated.

rainponcho

Well big congratulations on that one! Considering how stumped I was on why it wasn't showing correctly and post-screen crashing. Although I'm wondering if it would've been easier to "jsr" the text part and leave rest of the scripting code alone.

Pennywise

Well, hacking the second screen was much easier, so I did that first and then focused on hacking the first screen. As it turns out, the tail end of the data was writing to the attribute table and my attempts at adding/removing lines of text was screwing with that.

The 1.2 Japanese version includes several small fixes. Most of these are already in the English release, but some aren't, such as the Ritchter flame whip fix.

And I would recommend making a new thread just for this romhack. It's very interesting.
