Simon's Quest Redacted

This is interesting...

(um, there's curse words...)

This is a very good hack...it doesn't do anything unnecessary, and speeds the game up in the process.

Is this in the wrong forum?

I played the hack (use google, the hack is ditributed in ROM form as opposed to a patch) (oh and YES I DO have a Simon's Quest cart).
This is kind of impressive, but to be honest without the retarded people in it it really doesn't feel like Simon's Quest any longer.

I'm pretty sure they do. The Virtual Console is based off of old games...

Well it wouldn't be hard to make a patch out of the patched-ROM.  you should be able to just compare it with the original and you'll still get the changes, yes?  And then it can be uploaded like all the other edits on this site.

I guess I could upload it if I ever find the author's name and release date.

VC is basically an emulator and ROMs, for the NES Roms they are using iNES headers. Fanboys just think it's more authentic because Nintendo sells them. Strangely all "difficult" to emulate games are never released on VC...

Oh yeah, I know that. I also know that, for some bizarre reason, it seems like the emulator is packed with the games themselves, unlike PSX games for PSP (which, iirc, the emulator is actually hidden in the system itself?)

...Say, did no one ever try to upload this, or was the upload rejected for some reason?

Yes, in the PSP the emulator is part of the system software, and changes/updates with it.

I started this topic; I could do that today if it's permissible.

Edit: All done.

Congrats... this remember me I should try to walk through this hack.
But I'd admit a good part of the fun in CV2 was the terrible scrip - without it there is no much fun left as the game itself is bland and boring.
