Another speed bump!  This time my gold got reset.  It started at level 11, when I made tons of money in the arena.  Then whenever the guy makes a high bet that bet ends up to be _ _ 0 gold, I earn _ _ 00 G...which I discover is none at all, then I reach the next chapter.  I used to have 650,000, but when I find 20,000G in a chest, my gold count falls to about 10,000G.  When I start buying Silvers at the shop, I discover the seller would not accept payment cause I don't have enough gold.  I can't believe that caused integer overflow; that's not fair :'(

OMG it WAS overflow!  I knew something screwed me over when I couldn't go any higher than 655,350G!  That was the LIMIT!  DAMNIT!
:banghead:

Ok then!  Word of warning:  Don't go higher than 655,350G

I'd just like to say--getting to that limit is officially overkill XD

Never got even close to that (I never use arenas), but thanks for the tip.

Anyway, you can download here the final version of the patch (direct link).

I already submitted the file to RHDN, now I only have to wait until it gets accepted!

About the gold bug, is it ever necessary to be a hundred-thousandaire? I'm thinking stopping Gold from going up past a certain value. I'm pretty sure the highest cost for any individual item would be 2550G (stat boosters). Correct me if I'm wrong, of course, although that 0 should be just for show.

(In case you're wondering why I find it meaning basically set for life, I ended up being a hundred-thousandaire in Radiant Dawn....a game where Reblow Wands were 3750G a pop and available in infinite quantity on the last shopping opportunity. Naturally 10 of the suckers barely even phased my ridiculous money supply.)

I wouldn't call it a bug per se, because this is a common limitation of the game called an integer overflow.  In this case, I determined the gold cap was set as 16-bit, as the binary limit for 16 bits is 65,535.  Ergo, the maximum allowable amount of gold is shown to be 655,350.  Now to explain the weird bids made in the arena as you reached that amount...I theorize that Intelligent Systems was able to prevent overflow from occurring through winning more arena money.  But they can't implement that into permanent treasure money.  Guess they never heard of "...but your pockets are full." at the time.

Is someone actually playing this? If you do and you find any bug (shouldn't be so) please report it to me.

Thanks

Special T

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but trust me I will (I'm a shining force / FE fanatic). I saw a couple of people posting about it on other forums so I assume it's being played, although no one's posted any bugs that I'm aware of.

By the way was the gold bug mentioned by iViking corrected or is it still present in the final patch?

Badbufon

the money is not a bug, only a limitation of the game itself...

im playing the game and it ROCKS! i love this game :P my first true love... and now i can understand what im playing... sweet...

but, replaying it, i feel a serius issue... most classes are worthless, and you end playing with the same caracters over and over again...

so, you can look for a way to promote some of those classes?

like : cleric > priest // fighter > pirate // hunter > "horse archer" // A Knight > General

and make the clerics gain EXP healing.... >.>

i don't know anything about hacking... so i dont know how hard it is...

(sorry for my english x_x, im still learning it)

Cleric already can be promoted, though it requires a Guidance Ring. They can gain EXP too, by surviving combat rounds, which invites Thief grinding.

The other classes you mentioned, though, are SOL without a balance hack or something.

Celice

There's not much reason to fix them up... that's just how the game is.  I mean, you could, but that's not in the interest of a translation project, really.

Besides, it's fun to see healers be impossible to level up without direct suicide XD  Naw, just use the mages and promote them quickly to get your staff use.

the translation is done, and i think its perfect, no bugs so far... i just asked if he is interested in a upgrade patch, that is all.

i didnt know clerics can be upgraded... i lvl up the bold cleric in the second map up to lvl 20, but never try to promot him... he sucks anyway... ... every cleric sucks... i love maria though

Edit : i have found something, when enemy clerics heal enemy units a non translated menssage shows up...

Edit 2: the untranslate mensage popsup when the enemy cleric use "live", when they use "relieve" there is no problem.

another unstralated part is when you try to store items when your unit has no items.

and, last... i dont get this... im not a english speaker, so..  this "i'm akanea's nina" is wrong? or im wrong?

edit 3 : in the arena, when your units broke their weapon, in the next turns, an untranslated message shows up...

Sorry for my late reply...

The non-translated storage line has already been translated I will bring that patch with various forgotten translated lines out soon.

The strange Nina line is caused by me having not enough space in the rom so I had to make short and to-the-point sentences. I mean: "I am Nina of Akaneia" by that, but that line was too long to fit in, so I had to do it this way unfortunately...

I will try to fix the other two as soon as possible as well.
