Great job on that temple!  The murals are pretty cool.

@Zoinkity, I agree. I believe this is almost done? I mean all you have left are 3 maps. The bone village, forgotten city, and then the final area. I have no idea what the final area is going to look like in 8-bit form ^^

I was just reading on the page when I saw this topic.
I'll play through FF7 again, I get curious about the NES version!
Since it was my very 1st RPG in my life in 1998, it MUST be played!!!
From that time I'm a big fan of the genre and anime.
I'm looking forward the 100% complete patch.
Thank You for this 'Remake', I hope others also enjoy it! :D

@syntax error there is no clock room in the pirated version. Yeah, yet another thing that they just couldn't do. This game is pretty disappointing. I suppose in the original it had some similar map design. At least it resembles the game a little bit. Like shinra HQ they did a pretty good job on. I never saw anyone go through the entrance and fight those battles. I'll find a youtube video on it. Cause I'm curios to know what the elevator looks like. But seriously, a behemoth for a robot in the middle of nowhere?

I have some more maps than that to work on, about 18 left.  Then I just have a few other things to work on before I can call this project finished.

I did think about putting that area into the temple, but I just didn't have enough map tiles to make it.  Even if I could've though, the clock hands wouldn't have been able to move.

Way to go! Less than 20 maps and you got've all the mapping done, wow!
By the way, headposting said you wanted to release a new patch after the ancient temple, you probably forgot about that ;)

I did forget, I actually changed the time I would release the next patch to after I finish the city of the Ancients.  I just forgot to change that on the first page.

There was a house in the bone village? I didn't know that. I guess I just never entered it.

There's just the tent under the skull which didn't lead anywhere when you went inside.  And the tent at the entrance that's blocked by the person sitting in front of it.

The house in the city of the Ancients is finished:

On the original, only Cid and Tifa made an appearance on this map. Red XIII and Barret's sprites were a part of the NPC characters for this map, they just weren't used.  So I added them into this scene along with Cait Sith.  And I modified the dialogue a little to give each of them a part.

Major improvement! It's good you added the other characters to the cutscene. I would advise you to use your palettes colors to the full potential (if that makes sense, I'm typing this late at night).

I will give you an example
The right side is your graphics and the left is my adjustment.
