For those who were wondering. The project is fine and dandy as we got from deviantArt three outstanding graphic designers for the project. Also a noteable change has occurred. The ruined city is now a ghost city.

However, those with music hacking skills are welcome as ever.^^

Unfortunately, I am not going to post screenshots as it would only spoil your gaming experience. Sorry about that.^^'

For those who are interrested, we have a forum where we gather team members.
Anyone is welcome, as long as they promise not to reveal anything made there to the public. Therefore you only get to see sprites and tiles, if Megaman-Omega and Kuja Killer wants it.

http://rockman-utopia.forums-free.com/

If you go there, you will see first nothing, but once you are promoted as a team member you will gain access to the secret subforum.

We are recently confronted with a crisis.
While he have now the spriters to do the job the main head of the Megaman Odyssey Project Kuja Killer is overwhelmed by his own needs for the project, because as the only one to program the game is even for him a great burden.

In fact we require now assistance from freelancer hackers, who can help us with programming the AI of Bosses and Enemies for example.
If you know someone who knows someone that this person is capable to program NES games or at least is able to reprogramm enemies, programming events or is able to programm effects like that from an elevator or an effect like flickering air, please tell me of your assosiates, which can help us to move on the project.

We do not wish to let it end in development hell.

If you wish to help, please help us by finding those skilled people and tell them of this project. They would take away a bit of that burden which Kuja Killer wears.

I've been offering help. Not in the way they're asking for help, but certainly in a way that'll make this project easier.

From what Thanatos-Zero has told me, all the hacking is being done manually because Kuja Killer won't learn how to use an assembler. Now, I have fond memories of my first caveman code hacks carried out in this fashion, but attempting a project this scale without proper tools is sheer madness - no wonder he's suffering from burnout.

I'm really hoping Kuja Killer has at least kept track of everything that's been changed in the ROM, because if I can gather together all the ASM hacks and inserted resources, I can make a proper source code file for WLA, plus a batch file that'll automatically insert everything into a clean ROM with a double-click - they'll be able to experiment and make changes without risking all their hard work.

(It occurs to me that I'm assuming Kuja Killer runs Windows and a batch file will be useless to him if he runs anything else. But then, if he runs Linux, there's no excuse for him not to be able to run a command prompt. >_>)

I know this must be late, but do you still need spriters for the ruined city?

I can go ahead and design some tiles based off of Journey to Silius' first stage.

no, dont need anymore graphics for the 1st level officially anymore.
There's been soooo much graphics for this 1 single level as a matter of fact that, that it's literally taken up the space of 2 whole entire level's combined that i had to literally write this fairly complex block of code to switch back and forth between "level a and level b" several times throughout the level repeatedly.

And now it's impossible to even use this one guy's graphic of a truck crashed into a building cause there's seriously no more space left...cant be taking anymore graphics for the 1st level anymore period whatsoever. i'm denying it.
--------------------
ryusui - im on windows like most everyone out there. Well i do have some text guides and notes of stuff so i can keep track of RAM notes and other important stuff.
but i dont have anything mapped out. I dont really know how'd i'd do that.
I guess i'd just do stuff like 00300 - 0200F hex = needleman level data, 2300 - 400F hex - necroman graveyard level data ---- 38000 to ??? = coding of enemies, events, 60000 to ??? = text scripts.

I have no idea how i'd even map out stuff like that. i just only got it all memorized in my head where everything is. I've never noted it down before

Yeah...I was afraid of that.

But see, with a proper assembler, the "map" is the source code itself. An assembler like WLA has two things that make everything you need possible: "org" directives, which allow you to insert code or data anywhere in the ROM, and binary insertion directives, which allow you to insert files directly into the ROM.

I did exactly what you did when I hacked Sylvanian Families, and I am sorely regretting it now. The chief reason there hasn't been another patch is because I'd have to recreate everything I did in order to bring it up to my current standards - everything short of the script was manually inserted into the ROM using WindHex, or manually edited that way. Working on Breath of Fire 2 was an eye-opening experience: I'd have to call the approach d4s used towards organizing the project "best practices" as far as romhacking is concerned.

I have made an account there and I can't still download it.

Edit: Even Lenophis's edit changed nothing on it. I can't download it.
