Thanks Gideon.

I haven't played it myself, but it looks like a job well done.

Turbo File?  What the heck is that?  (Referring to the main screen)

It's basically a memory card device for the SNES. Very, very few games used it, and it was never released in America. I don't think any emulators support it, either. I can't claim that any Turbo File-related options will work if you're playing the translated game on SFC hardware and happen to have a Turbo File handy.

Japanese-only device. And it was mostly used in games by ASCII, who made the TF. (actually, I believe TF was technically a Famicom card, and had an adapter to make it usable on the SFC)

I'm curious about one thing in this game. What are the best conditions in which to use "persuade" under? I've used it many times, but it only worked twice (once with a soldier and the other time with a hawk man). Is it better to use it at close range or long range? Should the enemy unit be hurt for it to have a better success rate? Thanks in advance for the help. Great game by the way!

Trying to use the Persuade command from an enemy's side or from behind will be the most effective; especially so if you have wounded them. It's pretty much a guarantee under those conditions if they have very little HP left. Although their 'loyalty' toward you will be higher if you successfully persuade them with a healthier amount of HP. Not a big issue if you give the persuaded character several kills/level-ups in a story battle (or random battle) instead of during 'Training'. Or if you only intend to strip them of their equipment.

I'm very happy thins game eventually got a patch, it really deserves it. I've been looking to play it from a long time, I have a real cartridge of it but couldn't go far because the game really makes no sense if you don't understand the japanese.
Now I can eventually figure what's happening and how the battle system works it's really great.

To persuade enemy characters, according to Warren's report, they need to be Chaotic alignment and to be low on HP, and you need to be next to them.

I love the training mode and how you can set each team to be controlled by a separate controller.  Two people can have there own characters and duke it out, a feature that is sadly absent from pretty much every tactical RPG to date.

I have a feature request (though I'm not sure if this is the place to do so.) In a future version, if its possible, could you add a hack for making the menu that opens with Y during battle open with A instead? It would make the game flow so much better, since you have to open it constantly. It's a small thing, but a pain in the ass.

If you did that, this patch would be orders of magnitude better than the PSX version.

If you plan on playing this on an emulator, you redefine the emulator input, like LordKarnov42 subtly suggested. If you play more games at the same time on the same emulator, you can make "a special version" of the emulator by simply copying its folder/files and using the copied version for TO exclusively.

If you're using a flash cart, then you're stuck I guess. I doubt anyone would really rearrange the control scheme for something as trivial as that. :/ You always have the option of hacking it yourself...

A couple issues I've encountered:
1. The text contained within the help window on the naming screen isn't fully readable because of some sprites covering the text.
2. Switching to the bird-eye view on the world map momentarily corrupts the graphics for the date, and in some cases, portions of the map are corrupted as well. The text in the help window will also be corrupted, should you subsequently access that window. The documentation somewhat alludes to this, but the description is so vague, it's hard to say whether this instance is known.

Hope this helps.

Edit:

It shows the dexterously of the character.

Change "dexterously" to "dexterousness."

Shouldn't dexterity suffice? Dexterousness is a really weird-looking work, because it's so long.

Yeah, but I assumed that for some reason, the person who typed that didn't want to use this word.

I take absolutely no responsibility for the content of the actual script. Other than one or two tiny touch-ups, it's all Atlus's fault :p

A friend of mine has made a discovery regarding the differences between the the snes and psx versions. It seems the palette was tweaked between releases.

Now, open each one up in its own window, and flip between the two. You'll find two differences. 1. Vice is a pixel wider in the PSX version. this is an ePSXe bug. 2. Look at the walls. You'll see the colors are different. I find the PSX version to be the better looking one.

There are no palette changes in there, it's just the PSX video plugin doing weird stuff with colors. Lemme guess: Pete's stuff?
