Had some time to kill, so I decided to look into translating some Title Screens of some unfinished NES translations on the website.

I have no real interest in further pursuing these projects beyond this, so anyone interested in snagging the graphics for their own attempts are free to do so.

I don't think I'm done with it yet, but courtesy of FlashPV. I might change Musashi to red as it sticks out more, but the game uses a neat fade in effect through the palette and I'm not sure if red would place nice with it. There's also a kanji logo that I'll probably stick back in somewhere.
I can assume this one is a particular pain in the butt to fix up. I recall this title screen having vertically oriented text with fades or scrolling.

I already took care of all that and hacked everything to my liking. If you wanted to do your own version, I think I'm all set.

I had given that one some tries before, but it went above my head since I have little to no actual ROM hacking knowledge. I never went beyond the ability to locate and edit graphics in a tile editor, and rearranging their locations. This particular one was giving me trouble since the aforementioned fade would start displaying parts of my edits before the rest. The title screen would look busted until it finally done animating.

My attempt was pretty much going for the same type of thing you were doing anyway. http://i.imgur.com/wqniBwU.png

Yeah, it wasn't too complicated IIRC. Mostly a matter of changing the attribute table.

Dunno if anyone cares, but I have been working small FF7 related projects to re-learn stuff and get my hacker groove on.

I figured out how the title logo is arranged.

This is the original image ripped from the game:

This is how it is arranged. Here is the input:

The pink lines are not rendered for some reason. I guess something else overlaps it, like redundant parts of the image?

Here is the output:

And here is a transparent template of the output I made, to help anyone properly chop up any custom images they would want to replace that logo with:

I've seen there's a translation for Saiyuki World so I've done a title screen for it.
It's not inserted though.

Great stuff! Can we use it?  :)

Be my guest. I was planning to ask you if i can use your english translations to do some french versions. Anyway feel free to ask me if you need some graphic work.

Disregard what I posted before. My analysis was off.

When "1B" is rendered in game, the vertical length shrinks by one pixel. It seems that the entire 7th row of pixels (from the top) is omitted. Conveniently, though, this area is the row on top of the north border of "1A".

Here is the output:

Also, there is this:

Because I had nothing better to do this Christmas.

This is courtesy of FlashPV. He pretty much did everything for me.

Anyone ever do a Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels NES title screen hack? I hate calling it SMB2J. I love the way Nintendo of America named the game.

Anyone ever consider making a Title Screen for Super Metroid that actually says Metroid III???? I can visualize it in my head but no luck on converting it to a ROM. :-\

Nothing major, I just made updated English title screens for Kid Niki 2 and 3 for more consistency between them and the official American Kid Niki game. I started with the English title screen made for Crimental's Spanish translation for Kid Niki 2 and Proveaux's English translation of Kid Niki 3. I removed all Japanese text from part 2, replaced the numeral "3" in part 3 with the original Japanese "3" and added a translated subtitle. I also corrected the color glitches on both. Here are the before and after:

These title screens for the NES roms are crazy amazing!  How are you making these?  I've tried TilelayerPro, and YYCHR, and my screens are a MESS!
I really want to recreate Iron Sword: Wizards & Warriors II Title screen.  Anyone can help?

marioxb I liked your initiative, it's a shame that you did not share the patch, if you wish I did a Spanish version that might prove useful.

I like that one! I do like Crysta's version, but I rather like using the official English logo better. I think I'll mess with yours and see what I can come up with for an English version. I'll upload my patches probably tomorrow as well.

Use it as you see fit, check the graphics Change some
