Haven't actually gotten this hack working yet, but this is the intended design.

I was bored, so I put together this title screen hack for Makai Mura (a.k.a. Ghosts & Goblins).  I'm also thinking of cleaning up the "Engrish" in the game as well.  (Yes, I know it's been done before... just not by me.)

That title screen is basically unreadable. You're gonna need another color in there so that "Village" is readable with the current design.

Thank you for the input, Pennywise.  After taking your advice, I came with two three alternative designs for the intro screen.  One has the original design in the middle removed, leaving the text colors in the title screen as is.  The other has the title screen design still intact, but the text in the title screen changed from blue to black.  The third design removes the red graphic entirely, leaving only the text which is colored red.

Which one looks better?

The first one.

You should try a more custom font like this:

Oh, wow!  That looks good!

But, yes, I need to come up with something more original.  I'll work on that later today.  Thank you for the advice.  :)

So far, I came up with two more designs, both being a bit more "original".  Any opinions?  (I'm leaning toward the latter, though, but some people here might have other opinions/suggestions.)

After thinking about it for a day, I went with the second "original" design I came up with for the Makai-Mura title screen.

How does it look?  Looks good?  Eye cancer?  Don't care?  Could be better?  Please let me know.

Made this for the Survival Kids 2 translation patch. Hopefully it's not too hard to implement:

It was really tough to keep the red text readable. Hopefully I succeeded.

Looks great.

No, I can read it just fine. Accurate! Good job!

Just a quick title screen for the old Super Dimensional Fortress Macross NES game.  I got the design from an official logo I found online.  As for why there were wide spaces between letters, I didn't have a lot of tiles to work with, so I had to use what little I had.

This may come out once I make a patch for the NES ROM, but any suggestions on this title screen?

Pennywise

There is already a title screen hack for Macross. Though it's a combination of English and Japanese.

I saw that one, but I wanted to do one of my own regardless.

I had thought of working on this game.  It took me several days, but I put together this title screen for "Solomon's Key 2: The Coolmint Island Rescue Mission".  (For those who don't know, this game was released in English as "Fire n' Ice".

What I had done was lift the English font and the game logo from the first game and apply it here.  Also, I changed the subtitle near the bottom (which was in kanji) and turned it into English with a border to go around it.  I also lowered "Push Start" down slightly.

Good?  Bad?  Ripoff?  What do you think?

Suggestions:
1. Maybe mimic the JP logo (white outline and black outline with shadow)
2. Maybe keep the JP subtitle palette and design

Really like your title screen Zynk, just wish the 3 was colored in.

Very good ! Looks like an official titlescreen.

Play as Peach... and Daisy!

That's very nice but I feel it would be even better if the logo was bigger, and the "3" colorized like SomeOldGuy suggested. Just a minor niptick.

But "3" is blinking, not sure how to mess with it.

Recently, a "restoration project" came out for Final Fantasy Adventure / Seiken Densetsu ~Final Fantasy Gaiden~.  The title screen is a bit... confusing.  Honestly, it kind of looks like the title of the game is "Legend of the Mana: Sword" or "Sword: Legend of the Mana".  So, I decided to take a crack at it.  Thing is, I didn't have the patience to try messing with an "Americanized" version, so I just ended up with an "transliterated" version.

The logo for the first game has always been kind of an oddity.  Future games would just use a big, blocky font, usually textured to look like stone.  This first game's logo is kind of redundant as it reads "Seiken Densetsu" right above the Romaji word "Seiken" wrapped around a sword.  I just basically nuked the Japanese text and slid a Romaji version of "Densetsu" under it, then slapped that onto the English menu.

I know it's about nine tiles too big to actually fit into the space for either logo.  Even a perfectly centered version is still four tiles too big.  but I didn't really intend to actually use it for anything.  If anyone wants to use it for their project, though, go for it – no credit needed (since I just shaded an existing font to match).  Here's the isolated "Densetsu", for the curious.
