5 hours in. So far its been way better than Beggar Prince and Legend of Wukong by far.

I always personally held Beggar Prince as the best Chinese RPG for Genesis. Possibly because it was the first one I ever played(the original Chinese version, back in 2003, not the English translation mind you

Yes, it's definitely better than Wukong. That one's not too good at all.

Hi, I'm new at romhacking forums, although I've been lurking this site for years now. I'm a great fan of rpgs, especially oldschool ones. I've just finished this game, and I've found it really interesting.

I only want to add my little contribution. Using emucheat, I've been able to find the memory adresses of the "next lvl" value for every character, so I was able to put it to zero, resulting in levelling up after every battle (makes level up a lot easier,

) Well, here you are

Tim: 00E118 and 00E119 (it's a 2 byte value, so put zero in both bytes)

Cherrie: 00E168 and 00E169 (same as above)

Celia: 00E1B8 and 00E1B9 (same as above)

Ray: 00E208 and 00E209 (same as above)

I know that playing with cheats is not as fun as playing the game the normal way, but it's useful for people like me who only want to follow the plot and not waste time raising levels and loosing against bosses over and over.

strange, is this bug or are there always the same enemies? I have played till the second town. So I have always slime or flame skull enemies...and the tree boss of course.

heh... wait until you get to the desert. I didnt record which teleporters you take for the volcano though sorry... at least youll probably find all the chests hidden in the volcano if you do it enough times.

I don't blame you, that's show I played when translating the game

Unfortunately that led to me not knowing how the majority of spells look, which led to improper translations. That'll all be fixed in the next patch

Hmm I just buy 99 silence stones... really useful on the bosses and somewhat useful on enemy casters too. Makes the game a lot more fair

Finished the game without 99 silence stones

Bosses are easy to beat with magic they weak to.

I'm rather surprised with the quality of this for being a pirate...wow. The translation is great work as well

Just wanted to report that this works just fine on PSP using PicoDrive, v. 1.51.

Glad to see the bug with the chief was corrected, I was stuck on that for hours. Is the corrected patch compatible with the previous version?

I also feel it is a better game than either Beggar Prince (which was decent) and Wukong (which was awful). I really dig the soundtrack and the whole look of the game. Something about the Genesis's sound and darker colors. Only beef I have with it is there are too many monsters wandering about.

Compatible with what? Savestates? Probably not. Use ingame save and load.

No sure if this has been post or not but I tested this game on the MD Neo Myth flash cart and it works on real hardware. Just thought I would share in case anyone was curious.

Well thanks to all the people who help make this English patch possible and I have to say this is a great/challenging old school rpg that has a good storyline that I have enjoyed and currently I am at the final battle of the game.

Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but I found a bug that causes the game to freeze whenever you go to the bottom of your sell screen at the magic shop. I'm using the latest version of Gens
