Beat it. Fun game. 8) Last level was a nightmare though (& if I'm having trouble with this, you probably need to tone it down a tad [just sayin' because I sat down playing this game 12 hours a day for a month]).

WHAT I LIKE:

-slight level layout changes
-updated palette
-más pistolas ;D
-title screen music plays on final stage
-more lives
-new enemy placement
-lasers are more dangerous now :o
-putting in enemies in the final stage

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

-first miniboss' shots are too fast (srsly, I have to rush up to these things & fire like crazy & take damage)
-two-shot limitation (honestly, why not increase it? >:D)
-the bosses could've used more variation (Where'd my YouTube link go? >:()
-no music on the title screen. :(
-for some reason it feels like I run out of ammo too quickly :-\ (I think this happened on my hack as well)

By the way, it's 'LAUNCHER' not 'LRUNCHER'  ;)

Yay! :D

Finally another Journey to Silius hack, besides my lame version.

And you even changed the level layout a little bit! :o

I had to watch my step there once or twice.

Anyway, great stuff! It's nice to see more obscure games like this get "the treatment."

Has anyone managed to get this romhack to work?

I patched it to a verified good dump of SMB (JU) & it freezes on the title screen on whatever emulator I use (FCEU/X/SP, Nestopia, NESten & for some reason Nintendulator has stopped working :-\).

Even already patched roms have this problem.

altoiddealer? Love it! ;D

Oh yeah, & Stinkoman.

46
Nothing else is different, as far as I know.

But then again, I haven't played enough of the game! :o

I'll find out.

47
Okay, it seems the NA release is a rather faithful translation.

With that said...

GODDAMNIT!! sOME BEAT ME TO IT!!!111

Oh well. Now I can enjoy the Japanese music.

It's been a while; I finally got the new test version of PocketNES working. ;D

Anyway, new line:

Quote
◇ げるろぜお ◇ へいったら ◇ にし ◇ きた ◇ のじゆんにすすめ。

Quote
WHEN YOU GET TO "GARLOZ", FIRST GO WEST, THEN GO NORTH.

49
I'm not dumping scripts.

If there's a mistake, then it's in my typing.

There is no katakana:

Seeing as I'm going to play this game anyway, I might as well.  Who knows? Maybe someone might want to pick this up?

Next line:

Quote
このさき ◇ ぼーがn ◇ がないとゆかれぬぞ。

Quote
FROM THIS POINT YOU CAN'T GO ON WITHOUT CROSSBOW

By the way, is there any mention in the actual game that your character is 'Rygar' ? I only remember that in the booklet.

51
Aside from having different music, what else has changed between the Famicom & NES port?

Is the English script a faithful translation from its Japanese counterpart?

Here's the text from the first Guru as an example:

Quote
◇ がうがんだ ◇ のやまには ◇ げるろぜお ◇ へのいりぐちがある。

Quote
IN THE "GRAN MOUNTAIN" LIES THE ENTRANCE TO "GARLOZ".

^ I like what you did with Bill & Lance (not too keen on the blue colors, though)

By the way, I laughed at Blue Falcon because it means also this:

The program doesn't come with with preset patches.  Anyone know where any are available?

agbmidi_conv is the exe.  Load it from command prompt & go from there.

I'm still trying it out, so I don't know how it works. :-\

There's this MOD Player I've been meaning to test out.

Has anyone tried it?

I am interested in this, if just for the music.

It does have the music, right? :-\

I tried it - it seems to work fine.

So, uh... where can I get the translation?

Does this work on PocketNES?

If so, I can test it out whenever I have downtime. :D

The Metal Gear room was weird in the way that it seemed to be setup for the original metal gear but they gave up or something.
Probably laziness. >:(

Is there any evidence that this was one of the last rooms they worked on?  It's such a shame, because a good deal of the game was left intact.  Many "little things" here & there tore away at the experience, but this was the nail in the coffin.

I think you should submit it to RHDN.  Even if you make changes afterward, you can update it.
