here is a really radical idea (that i have seen put into SMB3 through hacks) would be a item select box.

keep a flower stored in the box and a carrot on mario and press the select button to swap them out.

no idea how hard this would be to work out though. it just works like a charm for SMB3 though.

Just trying to think of a few gameplay hacks to really kick this game up a notch other than a "just color" hack. which to be totally honest would be just fine with me, but still thought i'd throw some ideas out there.

also, it's a shame that Pumpkin Zone cant get a super cool autumn theme (that is underdone in Mario games i think) but if it cant be worked out, then it cant be worked out.

just realized that there are MORE than 3 levels with secret exits, there is just 3 that lead to areas off the submaps. no idea why this is, but that would mean even more levels that need red dots!

i made a mock up of what Tree World would look like with the colored dots, but am unsure how to upload it.

Check out this map, Pumpkin Zone looks so cool in this. The autumn colors fit in much better for the theme. I don't know if it's even doable in the real game though, but it would be cool.

anyways i am EAGERLY awaiting this release (and For the Frog too, i had just started a playthrough of that, but decided to wait for color)

Also here is a thing if you could implement would be real nice. If you could make the secret levels accessible from the overworld. As it is (i think) you have to actually enter the level with the secret exit every time you want to play the secret level it leads to.

that may be too hard to add, but here is a thought. like SMW mark the 3 stages with secret exits with a red dot on the map and the others with yellow dots! that would be cool

they look great to me, especially how all your redesigns look much more sinister than the originals (with just a pixel or 2 changed too, no less)

quite improved. also the cyclops has always looked funny to me (like the monster from the bugs bunny cartoons) so it may be hard to improve him without changing him too much from the original look

this looks amazing, i prefer the first waterpic and i prefer the lighter moon.

the water level looks more like SMB3 to me in the first pic and SMW in the second (so i prefer the first)

the moon looks good dark, but i feel like the item box is too lit up for the ground to be that dark.

also i get where the ground being yellow on the moon is coming from, how about could you make the moon on the overworld grey, to match the grey ground on the moon, and keep tha star yellow (of course, lol) would it look funny for them to be that different side by side?

in the mean time, if you want to post your latest copy of this on here i wouldnt mind doing some bug testing, or playing around with it.

this really does look great.

also i dont know anything about hacking but i could make suggestions/criticisms on the gameplay so far

p.s. i'll be testing it on the Wii with the VBA-GX emulator so you can see if their are any issues going that route for people that play on their Wii's.

I just thought of what would be an EXTREMELY useful thing to implement into Super Mario World (and for it's hacks, if possible)

A screen that shows you what Dragon Coins you have collected in what levels. (they might even have this in the GBA version)

It would give me a reason to try to get all the Dragon Coins finally. (like star coins in the "New" series)

All the elements are there, just from a different perspective.

Holy Cow! The Speed! ^^ Also the game is much more responsive than the original.

I would LOVE to have a hack for the vanilla Metroid that had the speed and controls of this hack.

If it also had the map and saving would be awesome (the up + a + b saving, not using controller 2 like the Metroid + Saving hack).

Does that exist for the vanilla game?

Oh and did I mention the graphics? Gorgeous indeed!

A SMB1 Hack fully resembling SMB Deluxe for the GB, other than the very small screen and intro, and menu. Sorry.

I have been wanting that since the very fist time i played SMB Deluxe.

Does anyone else wish that instead of the NES Classics SMB, they would have just ported over SMB Deluxe. I thought that was just, such a wasted opportunity.

Also, they could have made SMB Origins Advance (or someone could hack one out now). It would be SMB1 and SMB2-Japan and they would have all the bells and whistles of SMB Deluxe and look like Super Mario All-Stars (actually they should look BETTER) to go along with the rest of the Advanced series.

Throw in the option to have power-ups from the other games (maybe Hammer suit for the tougher levels and Frog suit for the water ones). Have an option to pull and throw plants (SMA4 did this).

It would still need the image galleries and the mini-games and the NES graphics if it was going to be SMB Origins Deluxe, but SMB Origins Advance could have the "souped-up" graphics to match the other SMA games. Heck I want em' both.
