ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: Romancing SaGa 3 Hack !?.
« on: May 31, 2012, 10:18:24 pm »
^cool link, a bit off topic, but it seems the guy (SpectrumXD) who had a huge hand in hacking and translating Tsubasa 3 was working on Tsubasa J for the SNES. He vanished from the scene in 2008 I believe.

His site is gone. I found a patch elswhere of Captain Tsubasa V for the SNES both in English & Spanish but the Spanish version was more complete and more work was done and text contained much more detail.

this game is sex on wheels

Lunatic Fantasy looks raw

I doubt it since This is a very hard game to translate and if i'm not mistaken, the original english translation team (mana sword) is dead, it's a shame cause the hack it's pretty well done and has some great music ported from other SaGa games. Magno is currently translating this game to spanish so maybe he can help.

YES! i will enjoy it in ye old spanish one day!!!  Just like I did with XAK 1, and Captain Tsubasa 3, the only other Japanese to Spanish translations that exist.

what system is this for

An automap hack for Phantasy Star 1 on Sega Master System would be wonderful. It would make needing graph paper next to you no more, bring it to 2012. Similar to how Shin Megami Tensei has an automap on the SNES. They knew you would need it.

combining patches to make the ulitmate version of Phantasy Star 2 rulz

Playing through Phantasy Star 2 proper casing, I am at the 4th dungeon with no problems so far.

Wow looks fantastic.

Is it true there is a Destiny of an Emperor 3 on Genesis SNES?

For the record EASY PATCH is not an appropriate name

I still have died on random encounters twice. I still get mauled by enemies if im in the wrong area at the wrong level.

This new version is  a godsend. NEW TRANSLATION, NEW CASING, NEW PLAYABILITY. I love you romhacking!

Let's not forget that this "easy" patch:

1. Does not give you the ability to ambush your enemies
2. Does not give you any easier ways to get the only item that can revive a character
3. Does not help you navigate through the dungeons

4. Does not lower the encounter rate.

If you ask me, this patch is essential. Contra or Castlevania are hard because you need reflexes. PSII is hard because you need time. This patch follows the age-old musician's adage of "don't bore us, get to the chorus."

do i still rub you the wrong way???

that just sounds wrong broski

back on topic... SCREW calling it the "easy patch" it should be called the "Phantasy Star 2 Kai" patch. Since it basically cuts down all the filler battles.

Sounds like trolling if you ask me. I tried combining the proper-caser with the easymode in either order using LunarIPS, and recieved a res screen of death both times.

So what's the story, morning glory?

Im not trolling. Fix your checksum or something in the emu

having a blast playing this wonder of  a game now with all 3 patches working in unison.

I patched it in this order

2.Text Casing Correction
3.Easy XP&Money patch

I don't agree with this. It's more like playing Desert Bus, except the bus can now do 180mph instead of 45. It doesn't really change the "challenge" at all, just greatly reduces the amount of time you spend on the overworld grinding out the experience and cash you need to survive the next area.

this is the way I see it as well.

Reduces grinding time and allows more PLAYING time. I AM IN BLISS.

Sure in 1989 it was ok to have a  60 hour gaming experience since there were not that many as good RPGs out at the time. But by todays standards, I WELCOME this patch with the grace and passion of a holy king.

more like the "breezy" patch since when you apply you breeze through the game at a more fluid rate.

I completed the first dungeon within the first hour of gameplay.  The game is now much more "user friendly" and more efficient so you dont need to pour so many hours into grinding.

This paired up with the retranslation patch & the correct letter-casing patch make for a delightful wonderful RPG experience.

What 1989 should have been to us.

HECK!! SCREW calling it the "easy patch" it should be called the "Phantasy Star 2 Kai" patch. Since it basically cuts down all the filler battles.

already started on Phantasy Star 2 with the reduced difficulty hack and this AND the retranslation all combined into one fine thing of beauty.
