CANT HACK METROID

LOL whut?

But seriously, Dr. Floppy to the rescue. This post is useful because it tells me that I should ask Dr. Floppy about music so now I know I can and I will ask Dr. Floppy about music because that is something I'm interested in finding out about. (even though I can't hack Metroid.) :(

News Submissions / Re: ROM Hacks: New Hacks Added to the Database

I'm a little bit disgusted with the community right now, all the attacks on the Legend of Zelda Gender Neutral hacks are unfounded! For one such attackers are saying it's disgusting and bringing up stuff about the LGBT community, when in fact it has ZERO to do with that community, if you read further into why the guy is doing it you will find that he said and I quote "One day my daughter might play video games, so I'm doing these hacks so she can feel like the hero/player, in fact the Japanese version on the original NES game had very few references to Link being a boy and even the creator said Link is an avatar for the player" We all know that in canon Link is male, but does it really hurt anyone that these hacks exist, it's not like you are being force to use them OR that they will be enforced in the re-release of any game, it sounds like people who hide behind the Attack Helicopter meme are plain out anti-gay and anti-woman, insecure guys attacking a father for making hacks for his daughter that even she might not even play one day. So think about that, a man does something gender neutral FOR HIS DAUGTER and all of a sudden it's a free pass at hate towards women and LGBT community.
I just wish people would make hacks that are good instead of merely gay. ::)

I dislike all low effort hacks equally.
Is that Zelda hack using the helicopter from Bionic Commando?

are gender hacks the new naked headless mario vs the dick nazis? news at 11
And then the derp got me I got bronchitis ain't nobody got time fo dat.

You guys are gonna get this thread locked. The mods don't like these discussions.

I love Metroid. Has anyone ever though of remaking Metroid II from a hack of Metroid 1 on NES? I guess the enemies and bosses might be an issue right? That sounds like a project I might like to try some day.

Because one of the main things I always couldn't stand about Metroid II on Gameboy was how the screen was displaying much less of an area it looked too zoomed in like you can't even see anything around the player character. Remaking it on NES could totally fix that problem . .

Great can't wait.

Just out of curiosity is the patched rom bigger than the original rom? Was there any mapper conversions involved ?

68
Awesome teaser! I'll gladly give this a good try once its out! It totally looks and feels like a different game and not many rom hacks reach that status.
I agree.

I feel like I'm indebted to the hack authors and I haven't even played this yet. Maybe I can repay you in my own special way. We'll figure something out.

When's this supposed to be released anyway?

ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: Screenshots

Hey,

I put the Glowing Cross into the American Castlevania III.
Not sure where I am going with this yet.

Pretty!

Maybe you could make a whole game hack out of stuff like that. Castlevania III: Christianity? I mean not necessarily a spoof hack but just a thought.  :P

MAME
I have some MAME games that are pretty interesting. They might be rare I downloaded them 15 years ago and I'm thinking that some of them might not be found online anymore but I'm not sure.

Armed Police Batrider
Daraku Tenshi - The Fallen Angels
Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mysteria
Kabuki Klash - Far East of Eden
Last Blade
Last Blade 2
Marvel vs Capcom Clash of Super Heroes
Metamoquester
Sol Divide - The Sword of Darkness
X-Men vs Street Fighter
X-Men Children of the Atom

some others but not sure which ones might be rare

I would be more than happy to test it out and give some feedback if that's what you're looking for. I might not have time to play this all the way through but I'll certainly give my honest opinion about the parts I do see. I don't use Facebook so just send me a PM on here if you like.

I'm pretty familiar with the Final Fantasy 1 game and hacks (I've played many of the finished hacks on here - Epica, FF++ , etc.) so I know a bit about how the game plays and the various aspects of the vanilla game. I like to try playing with non-standard party loadouts so maybe I'll be able to give a unique perspective . .

 :)

Skyrim's been occupying a lot of my time.

Yea I downloaded that too when I got into Oblivion. I had no idea I would like Oblivion as much as I did. And the mods? WOW! It's going to take me about 20 hours just to sort through and install all the mods I want to use.

I'm still playing the vanilla game for now. Lvl. 20-something Nord thief - the freedom and gameplay is amazing and there is just way too much stuff to do. Enchanted items and customizing your clothes with magical stuff is pretty fun too. I have a castle, two houses and a pirate cave LOL

Gaming Discussion / What. are you playing?
« on: June 23, 2016, 03:49:03 pm »
What. Do you even are you playing? Currently.

This is a thread to discuss games you are currently playing. If you even ever. (currently.)

PC games I currently have installed: Stalker MISERY 2.1, XRebirth, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, Portal Stories Mel.

Dolphin Gamecube: F-Zero GX

Then there's my whole MAME library and my whole console game library which the only ones I'm playing currently are on NES hardware: Final Fantasy Epica, Bionic Commando (still haven't beaten it >< )

What play you? Even do you??

Is this Rampart game any good? I can't find any information about it and the screenshots don't seem to show the gameplay parts. Is it like Battleship or something?

Edit: I just tried Rampart. It's pretty good! It's like Tetris base wars with land tanks.

ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: What are you looking for in a ROM hack?
« on: June 20, 2016, 06:28:20 pm »
There are three things I look for in a hack:

1) nakedness
2) headlessness
3) naziness

The Marathon series all is available in s source port now, AlphaOne.

I've never found the UT99 mod in the wild though.

I think it's Marathon Resurrection?
