Awsome! I will gladly accept your jailbroke Luigi as long as you help me import it and sucessfully get it to work.

Making things work is Dr. Floppy's style!

ROM expansion tends to make games stop being recognized by hacking utilities (Tile Editors being a noted exception). So when you're done with that sort of thing, shoot me the ROM a totally random assortment of 0's and 1's at DrFloppyMD(at)aol(dot)com.

I jailbroke the shared-lower-half thing for a Mario Kart hack of my own a few months back. It requires a simple ROM expansion, so you might want to hold off until you're done doing any/all Utility-based work.

Do you need unique sprites for Luigi's bottom-half?

Thank the great good Lord.

And thank you, Mr. Disch. I'll be using TinyPic henceforth.

I know you did. That's why I said "you should learn how to use it."

PostImg is a huge piece of shit and it doesn't work at all for anybody else. Only works for you because, again, you already have that image in your browser cache.

My final advice: Stop using shitty servers and learn how to use Imgur.

Have I been rude or unprofessional towards you?

go to imgur.com, click on "upload", drag+drop image (or click browse and select it), copy/paste link.

It's about as simple as possible.

I'm sure it is. Which means there's no learning curve involved; Imgur simply isn't working on my end. I gave it permissions via No$cript and AdBlock and it still wouldn't cooperate. I tried a different browser. Still nothing. Exactly how much time am I supposed to waste before I'm allowed to just try some other imagehost?

This has nothing to do with members or non-members of a site. Most servers, including that one, block hotlinking to prevent bandwidth stealing.
Hotlinking has worked just fine before. Rotwang turned certain permissions off last week to experiment with blocking Russian spambots.

Just use a image hosting server like everybody else in the world. Imgur is the best and most popular one, you should learn how to use it.
Yeah, I already tried Imgur twice and it sucked lobster dick both times (see prior thread). PostImg seems to be working, though.  :)

@Dr. Floppy
None of your images are showing up.

Still?!?!?   :banghead:

Rotwang just fixed the permissions to allow non-members to view imagery...   :huh:

What happens to the silence when those infamous Game Genie codes are used?

Imgur isn't behaving, so I'ma try something else. Does this show up?

Okay, apparently it doesn't. Let's try yet another option:

this image link will only work if you have a baddesthacks account; mind re-hosting somewhere else?

Not too much. What's your preference?

PM Rotwang if you want to know about SNES sound samples. He's the undisputed master of the art!

Someone axed me this same question a few weeks back...

Analyze the values at zp$21 and zp$22. They reflect the macro/micro scene changes of the opening/ending narrations. If you have a concrete storyboard planned-out already, I can advise you further on how to make it fit within the game's confines.

FWIW, SMB1 stores its Title Screen layout data in CHR-ROM (of all fucktarded things).

Newcomer's Board / Re: Decimal to Binary Help

A few dopey mnemonics that helped me out back in the day:

$0 = 0000  Easy!
$1 = 0001  Also easy.

$4 = 0100

$6 = 0110 --> Sorta looks like "OTTO" --> Germanic name --> Nazis --> Evil --> Six

$A = 1010 --> "A" is ten in hex, and the binary reads "ten-ten".

$B = 1011 ==_\
$D = 1101 ==>  I always likened the binary representations to the lower-case "letter" forms. 'b' has its bulk to the right, while 'd' carries its bulk to the left.

$F = 1111  Maxed-out; highest value by default.

can I please see a finished city?
I guess it's the scale thats throwing me off.

Yeah, that's what's been throwing me off as well. I'll look into finding one that doesn't look like an AIDS sandwich minus the bread. In the meantime, don't hesitate to move forward with any/all inspirational design protocols.
