Yay! Now the Spanish community can realise what a colossal piece of shit the game is. Though I'm sure everyone will appreciate the effort you guys put into it. Well done.

Hey Guys, i've solved those issues related to "the crashing game" after NAMCO logo. Just use the 1.1 version. If anyone is in difficulty, please  feel free to PM me
Sweet. Thanks for figuring that out. Wacked my head off a few walls when it didn't work before. I'll try it out soon. Yippee.

Thanks, man. I appreciate it.

I think I'll just drop it here instead of a new thread. Anyhow, I need some help recognising yes again, more kanji. That said, half of it is just spot checking for characters that I may have incorrectly recognised, but there are also character recognition from images that I need done, too. Hope I'm not being too big of a nuisance, though.

Wow! Thanks! That was quick. I really appreciate it.

Actually, there are a few translating things I could use help with. I have a brief understanding of them, but I'm honestly unsure and I want to get it right.I'll drop them below.

2. (Confused, is the above or bottom correct?)
My children work fast, you know.
Work fast, my children.

I regret nothing. (Unsure)

Doesn't matter. I got it sorted.

I'm in need of some help to correctly recognise the characters from the images below. I had a Japanese friend of mine recognise the ones I couldn't before but he's busy at the moment. Anyhow, I know these scans are not in great quality, but if you could be so kind as to help me out, then just try your best to recognise the characters. I can handle translating so there's no need to worry about that.

So i'm testing the patch but unfortunately i've got some issues  :( , the same of D.O.Eraven one. I'm Italian too and i'm starting to think that there is some kind of problem with the patching process or something like this, linked to my/our win8 O.System. I have the original JAP game version, ripped with Alchool 120% and patched as the readme says: but when i play the game, every emulator i've tried crashes at the beginning after the NAMCO logo.
Same problem here. Shame a solution hasn't been found. Though this other option better work.

Sorry, guys, but I've run into some other problems, so I'll post them here instead of another thread. It's just the few lines below so I'd really appreciate it if you could translate them since I'm having some trouble trying to do it myself.

Code: [Select]

へ... だ... 出せたぜ...

い... 一本だけ...

Already got my problem solved.

"God damn it! That Shinji gets to have all the fun!" or "That damn Shinji better get to back to work!" (depending on context)
Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Toji: "All you do is dote over Shinji all the time! Goddammit!"

Or something to that effect.
Hmm, I'm unsure. Shouldn't either of these have been in the sentence.

Also, it says that ええ = good in Kansai dialect, which is what the speaker uses. Could you take this into consideration and try again, or someone else at least. I'm confused on how to translate it myself.

I've been having trouble trying to correctly translate this specific line, so I was wondering if any of you guys would know what it says. Could someone take a crack at it? I'd really appreciate it.
トウジ「シンジばかりええ思いしやがって! 畜生!」

Try a different video plugin. I'm running it on 1.9.25 with P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.18 without any problems.
I did just that, and the same thing happened. Tried both the new version and various settings. Also, the game before patch runs fine but it only does this after it has been.

Hi there, I just tried out your demo patch and the game just crashed after the Namco logo was display. Any help? And encase you're wondering, I did apply the patch right. Also, did anyone else run into this problem? Furthermore, I'm using ePSXe 1.8.0.

ROM Hacking Discussion / Re: Dreamcast ARC Files

Arc(hive) is a generic data file that could be anything. Game or developer-specifc. It's like asking how to extract sound from a SNES ROM. It's just a data blob and you need to reverse engineer the internal formats.
Yeah, I know. I'm just trying my luck to see if anyone here can help. Anyhow, the format that the files actually are in is SARC.

Does anyone here know how to extract arc files on Dreamcast discs? I need to know how so I can compress the sound/voices files for a game. Any help?

That's some nice progress you've made, Cargodin. I'll be eagerly awaiting new developments on this project.

Hey, thought I'd update.

Unless I forgot anything major or I flat out broke something, Scenario B's storyline is done. Most NPC stuff and UI stuff is still untouched though. As I think I mentioned earlier, I'm just going to seek/destroy that stuff as it comes along. Scenario C is also partially done, so it can't be tooooooooooooo far now, but that's looking too far ahead.

Probably won't be able to update for a little while since I've got some irl pains, but I thought the churn would be sweet enough.
Nice! That's great work you've done. You're making excellent progress.

Hi! Just noticed that this thread was alive again, and while I'm sort of barging in, I thought I'd post.

Play fair, I think Bob's request was pretty obvious. It looks like he's been following this thread for long enough to have seen the OP post by now.

I wish I could post an updated shot, but the current test copy is kind of borderline Eldritch in nature once it gets to the stuff that's been newly translated, and I think I managed to find where I CTRL+Ved in some coding where it didn't belong, so it's most likely something goofy that I did. It's been fixed but not reinserted. Here's a tag on my blog with three of the cutscenes translated. Will post more once I actually have some free time. (Been working on a mural for a coffee shop in town and it's p'much sucked the life out of me.)  :banghead:

Swarm's text looks much better in-game, for the segments he translated. There wasn't much in the copy I received, but he did have some stuff in Scenario B that saved me an hour or so.
The plotline+cutscenes+anime scenes for Scenario A are 96% done, save for UI, battle and NPC talk (which I dabble in here and there, but haven't dedicated myself to at all). I'm about a third/fourth through Scenario B. I have a good chunk of stuff in the end and some stuff in the beginning. Scenario C is just sidequests, so while I didn't nab the intro for that just yet, I did finish a couple sidequests, namely, Nek and Sachiko's, which is probably the best part of the route, if you ask me (it's the longest one for sure). Just can't dig into C too much until Scenario B is done, since even that Nek+Sachiko sidequest alone made about 12 references to Scenario A. Some don't make any at all. The storylines themselves aren't all that much text actually, so I can't say it's a lot.  Also ignoring most camping segments for now (since Linda and Sachiko both strike conversations with you at times when you choose camp.)

The NPC stuff and other options too are where things get really hairy, so I'm kind of avoiding that mess until I get to it and replay the game in proper. Scenario C is kind of a bitch to play through though, since the text in the dump likes to go in/out of order depending on choices you make. Some decisions and scenes are 1200+ strings away from the fork in the roads they apply to, so simply reading through the text doesn't help unless you know the script like the back of your hand. Gotta play or watch an LP from Niconico to move along. I haven't managed to set up any emulators to play it properly, so while I do have the Playstation copy, there's not too much I can do with it at the moment. The longest chunk of the process is the writing, which I'm just bad at in general. As you can see in the post, I'm not one to mince words, ever. Will most likely need a proofreader once the translation is all done, regardless.

Sorry for the novella, but I thought I'd share so people can get a feel for what's going on. And, hi, by the way.  :-[

Thanks for your blog link and the progress update, I'll check up every now and then. Also, it's good to see you guys have a good bit done already.

I know this is bit early, but is there any pics of this game with the translation you can show us? I just want to see progress.
