While you would normally be correct, unfortunately our changes were too great in scope to safely apply atop a ROM patched with BST's v1.00. I submitted this before I became staff, if my memory serves right, and at the time I was told that there is an exception in place for this exact scenario. Translation addenda that make large enough text and recoding edits atop the existing translation's work are allowed to be submitted as full patches. However, this is still an addendum as it's based off of another group's original translation and recoding.

Thank you for asking, I do appreciate this. :)

- Fixed another Ch2/Venus typo
- Fixed a major translation error
- Corrected a lore term and an accessory name

II Proper-caser -> Improvement made sense because it ceased being just a proper-caser
IV Proper-caser -> Reparations was admittedly a poor choice given its political and human rights connotations. That's what you get when you just use a thesaurus to find synonyms of the word "fix"
Reparations -> ReConstruct is my attempt at sounding futuristic

After mulling it around in my head for several months, I've decided to rename my PSIV mod to ReConstruct: Phantasy Star IV. There were no changes to the patch.

Good eye, Special. I've been told by a few sources that SNES checksums mean pretty much nothing in the grand scheme of things. It can be fixed with the tool IPSandSum

It seems it was prudent to me to submit a new version anyhow, because it seems I may have forgotten to bundle the Adamant Grotto fix in with the new version despite my claims. No new version number.

edit - its up now

Found even more readme errors, so as an excuse I bundled it with v2.44. This fixes the bug where you could trade 2+ Pink Tails for only 1 Adamant Armor, thus wasting your precious time and rare items. Credit to chillyfeez.

It wasn't a knock, me and you are the same, we like our consistencies, I just call it OCD, even thought it might not be the literally hardcore chronic, long-lasting disorder that doctors tell you that you have. ;D
Oh no it's OK! I didn't think it was a knock, I just wanted to clarify.

I had to fix some typos I found in the readme, so I updated the hashes on RHDN and in the readme with the ones Special told me about.

I bet your OCD was killing you until that went live, heh.
I don't have OCD, but you pointed it out so I thought it'd be prudent to fix it now.

About the CRC32, then what you have listed must be the "internal" ROM's CRC32 and not the actual ROM itself, see here.

You have listed ["EE345FBD"];

Similarly, another FFII hack using the same ROM (minus the header part for patching) ["23084FCD"];
Interesting! Thanks, I'll get around to updating this in the next few days then.

That's the CRC32 I get when I hash my base ROM on RHDN and in HxD. As far as I can tell it's correct.

Now is a great time to replay. Feel free to report any typos or any potential improvements to the script. I'm always evolving!

BTW, I fixed the lowercase F in the status glossary. :P I'll even submit a new archive to RHDN!

v2.43 is now available.

- Several dialogue updates, including a rework of the intro and a removal of the term Esperland. It is now "The Esper Plane." Thanks to Spooniest for helping me with the intro.
- Bit the bullet and changed Lit/Lit2/Lit3 to Bolt/Bolt2/Bolt3.
- Fusoya can now act while Regen is in effect.
- Multiple item descriptions normalized.
- Appendices (Formerly Supplements) have been remade to look more attractive.

to me, "flower girl" was always evocative of a wedding rather than a girl selling flowers

i helped him develop the patch (testing and submission basically) and i was the one who ensured it was compatible with assassin's patches. i play SoE with the button swap + assassin's patches, in fact. it's fine. just combine the patches using an ntsc-u rom and start a new game.

1. Be sure you're using the Japanese ROM
2. Try these patching instructions. I think your patcher isn't working

that might be something to bring up with the retroarch achievements team. i'm guessing the shifted over data is impeding the recognition of the achievements

An NPC said, "Ah, such a radiant smile! Even the gods itself envy it." Totally messed up the plural.

v2.06 is now live with a small typo fix in Ch2/Venus. No one caught it in all of development or all the time it was out, strangely.

- Fixed a small typo in Ch2/Venus. How did this go unnoticed for so long? No one knows!

Lory1990 made the disassembly I used for v4.x. There is an option in his disassembly that, when the disassembly is recompiled, implements various non-intrusive bug fixes which originated in his Phantasy Star II Bugfix patch. So yes, I did.

"Bug fixes galore implemented from lory1990's Phantasy Star II Disassembly."

Because of my low skill level, I have to manually change the EXP and MST for every single monster in the game. It's very difficult.

Hello. Thank you very much for Improvement (it's really cool  ) for PSII, but is there any way to fix this in MD/Genesis version? I applied your Improvement and than Reiska's Easy Mode and I've got this. Game don't break, plays as normal. EXP for that start battle ~500-800, but MST like 1x or 2x. If I apply Easy Mode and than Improvement - I've got just Improvement. Or maybe is there any way to make built-in 4x/8x EXP & MST? Or how to do this? ) Even with 2x it will be very long ;D
Sorry for my English and if I wrote in wrong place ::)

Hi, I'm sorry for the late response. Your English is fine. Because a lot of data was shifted around, I knew Reiska's patch probably wouldn't work. That's why I made the Doubled Edition patch. It's not that difficult to play with the 2x patch, however; it only becomes tedious if you want to change your teammates often, which PSII wasn't built around. Thank you for understanding.

I have a couple of simple questions.

1.  I noticed Nei can now equip late game equipment that would be impossible to get while she is a playable character.  Is there a way to keep her in the patch?

2.  Are there any plans to restore the characters of PSIV to their original names?  The big one I'd like is "Rune" changing to "Thray", as I feel the latter is a much more fitting name.
1. No, there isn't. These additions were made for those who would like to add her back in after the midpoint.
2. Again, no, there isn't. For one, "Thray" wouldn't fit in the four letter limit, so I'd need to get creative (Tray? Slay? Thay? Thry?). For two, one of the goals of my two projects was to make the lore terms consistent with the international English canon.

Phantasy Star Generation:4 - A Relocalization by GhaleonUnlimited (also available on RHDN) does have a patch to restore character names, but I'm unsure of what he did with Rune.
