Someone previously suggested this with Superstar Saga, but I'd like to see Super Mario Bros. Deluxe in English with all the QoL improvements from the later-released Japanese version.

That was my post you saw, I suggested a hack for SMB Deluxe that adds all the improvements from the Japanese version and a hack for Superstar Saga that restores the unused Starbeans cameo appearances along with adding all the improvements from the Japanese version.

Ninja Warriors (SNES): A hack for the international versions that will restore the female enemy, her sprites and actor ID are still in those ROMs, including restore the missing blood as well.

Splatterhouse 2 (Genesis): A re-translation hack that will change the plot to be more closer to the one from the Japanese version.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Genesis): A hack that will change the actor IDs of the colors that some of the Foot Soldiers are assigned to, so some of them will have their correct color palettes:

Switch the actor IDs of the orange & purple Foot Soldiers around.
Give the Foot Soldier that uses the hand shields the pink palette.
Give the Foot Soldier that shoots fire out of his mouth the unused green palette.

Pro Wrestling (NES): A sprite hack that will change all the wrestlers to their real life counterparts:

Fighter Hayabusa - Antonio Inoki
Star Man - Mil Mascaras
Kin Corn Karn - Killer Khan
Giant Panther - Hulk Hogan
The Amazon - Bruiser Brody
King Slender - Ric Flair
The Great Puma - Tiger Mask

Thanks for the info, I updated my description with a new screenshot.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist
I wish for a simple palette swap of red and purple foot soldiers.

I was able to find the color palettes and switch them around, but I found out that the red foot soldier shares the same colors of the fire, explosion, barrel and TNT box sprites.

So it didn't look right on the other sprites, the only thing I can think of that will make this work is maybe switch the enemy ID of the red and purple foot soldiers around, but I don't know where it is in the ROM.

Help Wanted Ads / [Graphics] [SNES] Street Fighter Alpha 2 Restoration
« on: October 04, 2019, 10:22:33 am »
Hi everyone,

I recently released a restoration hack for the SNES port of Street Fighter Alpha 2 that restores the red blood and Sodom’s name back to the international versions of this game, you can check it out here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4687/

But I recently discovered that the background stages for Birdie, Guy and Sodom are censored in the international versions, here’s what they look like in the Japanese version:

On Sodom's stage, his truck has his name on the license plate and the trailer:

On Guy's stage, the word "KILL YOU" appears on the wall:

On Birdie's stage, there's two people peeing in the urinals and when you use a super move, the left stall opens:

The problem is I don’t know how to restore them, that’s why I’m looking for a hex editing expert that can help me on this. I also think some of these graphics are still in the international versions, but they’re disabled.

If someone can help me on this, that would be great.

@DarkSamus993: Thank you for finding those hex addresses, I was able to change his name back to Sodom on those areas. That was very nice of you on helping me on this, you're the best.

@Psyklax: I also want to thank you for letting me know about bsnes-plus, this could be useful for future SNES projects.

UPDATE: I just discovered that the American & European versions of this game is a lot more censored than I thought, thanks to info from user RealGaea.

On Sodom's stage, his truck has his name on the license plate:

On Guy's stage, the word "KILL YOU" appears on the wall:

On Birdie's stage, there's people peeing in the urinals and when you use a super move, the left stall opens:

So I still need help on this hack, including restore this stuff for the European version as well.

Sorry about this, I did not know that Capcom USA censored a lot more things in the international versions of this port.

Hi everyone,

I need help on finding Katana’s name in the SNES port of Street Fighter Alpha 2, because I’m trying to make a restoration hack for it that will restore the red blood and change Katana’s name back to being Sodom.

I successfully restored the red blood and Sodom’s name for the ingame text:

But I can’t find the hex values for Katana’s name that is used for the select player screen, his versus portrait and his energy bar:

Does anybody know what hex values they used in the ROM so I can change them?

UPDATE: Sodom's name has been restored, but I still need help on restoring graphics for some of the stages, scroll down to the bottom of this page to see what I need help on.

Try this hack, not only it fixes bugs, but it also decensors it as well: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3147/

- A hack for Ghouls'n Ghosts for the Sega Mega Drive: adding the arcade intro, the little boss intros and the score tables. Even better if some graphics get fixed to be more similar to the arcade version. I'm sure you can make a much more faithful port of the game for the console nowadays, beacuse Yuji Naka did a good job and only had 5 months to do it!

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this be made.

- A hack to add the missing graphics in Mega Drive's EWJ that were present in the Snes port: lensflares in New Junk City, the horrible face in What the heck, the clouds in Snot a Problem, etc.

I also would like to see this stuff be added to the Sega CD port of it as well.

Kirby Super Star (SNES): A hack that will restore this content from the Japanese version back to the American version:

Restore 12 of the Japanese food items: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_Super_Star#Food
Restore the animated weeds in the foreground of Samurai Kirby: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_Super_Star#Samurai_Kirby
Change the text "time" back to being "clear time" for Gourmet Race: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_Super_Star#Gourmet_Race
Restore the "maido" sign next to one of the Kirby graphics during the Final Credits: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_Super_Star#Final_Credits
Make the title logo for The Arena animate: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_Super_Star#The_Arena_Animation

Not a game per se, but I'm looking for the name of a particular Half Life 2 or Portal 2 mod I played back in highschool and I'm wondering if anyone else remembers it.

Details:
Multiple semi-identical rooms all with a different gimmick or theme, set in some sort of hotel style hub? Iirc you need to explore the rooms to find keys to progress, it also had some freaky shit on the bottom floor rooms, a room with this loud crying/laughing sound and another where something from outside tries to chase you down among other things,
mostly I remember a lot of the rooms being loaded with a bunch of identical mannequins, some of which moved to jump scare the player.

I've been racking my brain trying to remember what this damn thing is called, checked the top tens, looked at my subscription list, even went through some of the workshop mods to no avail.

I think the game you're talking about is called The Office Prank, it's a mod for Portal 2.

hi guys, i'm looking also for a weird old beat'em up :D i forgot its name for years and i really wanna try it again untill i die

some clues:

was a tall dude, walking on a street with hands in the pockets and hitting only with fists, it was was a cartridge with magical doropie...

this is all i remember about that game, if anyone has idea pls lets me know :) thanks

I think the game you're talking about is called The Mafat Conspiracy, it's based on the Golgo 13 license.

I already know they did that in those hacks, but I want to see a standalone hack for them that doesn't change the games, it just adds the new Pokemon to them.

112
I would like to see a hack for Pokemon Gold, Silver & Crystal that will add these Pokemon to them:

Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon, Togekiss, Weavile, Honchkrow, Mismagius, Electivire, Magmortar, Magnezone, Tangrowth, Rhyperior, Porygon-Z, Yanmega, Gliscor, Mamoswine, and Munchlax.

113
Mischief Makers (N64) Hacks:
*Restore the Japanese opening theme Troublemaker
*Restore the dialog boxes in the first stage
Both were removed in the US/EU releases for no reason.

Including restore the Japanese voice tracks for all the characters, I thought the English voices were terrible.

114
I want to see a hack for Super Mario 64 that would restore the Mel Blanc voice clips from the beta version of the game for Mario: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvDWe4Go6vs

Another thing I would like to see added to this hack is Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

116
Tetris (Game Boy): A hack that will add the original Type-A music track "Minuet" from Version 1.0 as a forth Type-D music track.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (Game Boy Advance): A hack that will add all the improvements from the Japanese ROM to the American ROM and also restore the unused Starbeans Cafe cameos as well.

Hi everyone,

Three years ago, me and rainponcho released a hack for the SNES port of Turtles In Time that fixes all the text errors in it, you can check it out here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3470/

The reason why I created this help wanted ad is I want to extend the hack to have all the missing defeated boss speeches from the Japanese version, they took them out of the international versions for some odd reason.

That’s why I’m looking for a hex editing expert that can restore them for my hack.

This is what they should say after you defeat them:

Baxter Stockman - “T-TURTLES… NOT WORTH IT!”
Metalhead - “HA… I’VE BEEN MANGLED!”
Ratking - “UH… NOT EVEN THE SEWERS…!”
Slash - “I-I’M HISTORY…!”
Rocksteady - “B-BUT YOU'RE JUST WEAKLINGS!!”
Bebop - “WHAT ARE YOU GUYS?!”
Leatherhead - “I SHOULD’VE GOTTEN OFF AT THE LAST STOP!”
Krang (2nd Fight) - “ARE DEAD!”
Super Shredder - “UWAAAAAA!!!”

If someone can help me on this, that would be great.

118
I would like to see hacks for Fire Pro Wrestling D, Z and Returns that will give you the ability to change all four costumes of a default wrestler instead of one costume.

119
Banjo-Kazooie (N64): A hack that will remove the requirement to collect each world’s 100 musical notes in a single life or run like they did in the Xbox 360 port.

Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64): A hack that will restore all the content that Nintendo forced Rare to remove back to the game.

Super Punch-Out!! (SNES) A hack that will restore the beta sprites of the main protagonist.

Crash Team Racing (PSX): A hack that will add all the fixes from the PAL version to the American version.

Nightmare Creatures (PSX): A hack that will give you the choice of turning off the health-depleting adrenaline meter in the options menu like you can in the N64 port.

Quake II (PSX): A hack that will replace the entire soundtrack with the one from the N64 port.

TMNT IV (SNES): A hack that will change some of Krang's sprites to make him look more like his arcade counterpart:
(Neon Night Riders)
SNES:

Replace them with these:

(Starbase)
SNES:

Replace them with these:

Add this to his destroyed ship:

Including add Super Shredder's falling sprite from Hyperstone Heist as well:

Including change the colors in this game to make it look more like its arcade counterpart as well.

Another neat idea is maybe give her colors based on her suitless appearance from Super Metroid:
