"Easier" is a bit of a blanket term. I doubt you'd even notice if you played, it's very subtle and is more of a smoothing effect for early on. Don't just look at a value going up and go "welp it's easier" and call it a day...

Showing the hit multiplier is great! Definitely a very useful spell. I think 'effect' or 'inflicts' would get the point across. 'Caution' seems a bit ambiguous even though I know most people who play this will already have a guess as to what it is. I try to plan for the dumbest user imaginable. Is Beastly all animal opponents, like wolves and tigers? That's what my mind goes to.

Very nice that you got player confusion done. That also sounds terrifying. Excalibur on a white mage...hahaha.

ROM Hacking Discussion / FF1 Archer Class - Possible?
« on: September 12, 2019, 03:49:20 pm »
Title. Has anyone ever tried it?

The main game change here is an implementation of an arrow animation for only one weapon type only. Since there aren't nearly enough item types and it's just a pain in general, I would guess arrows would not count as actual items and would be assumed to be had in battle at all times.

I thought of this idea a while back as an idea for replacing black belts because their class change is the least significant as it is, and there's not much you the player can do to improve them. They're kind of like automatic win buttons.

ROM Hacking Discussion / FF1 Dynamic Action patch question
« on: June 28, 2019, 12:37:18 pm »
Everything works great, save one relatively minor thing. I noticed when at least one character is dead, sometimes monsters will not act that turn.

I tried counting out everyone’s turns just to make sure I wasn’t crazy, and am assuming for some reason this means the monster tried to attack the dead guy and failed.

Pretty sure this is it since the odds increased with more dead party members. Anybody have an idea?

P.S. plugging one more question - is it possible to show a message for poison damage? 16% is kind of a lot to have sneak up on ya. ;)
