How impossible would it be to make games display in new resolutions? I'm thinking like say, Shantae for GBC with more visible screen area. Or Metroid II. Is this the kind of thing that can happen with LUA trickery or is it well into "remake the whole game" territory?

I suppose in the case of Shantae, most of the first game's enemies and whatnot now do have higher resolution assets in the second and third games.

How about a game where you can play as the Princess wearing Luigi's clothes with throwable bombs, like in that one Super Mario World comic?

Turn any of the NES TMNT games into a tie-in of Michael Bay's TMNT movie. I dare you.

I'm shocked that, to my knowledge, with the skill of the Mario fangame community, none have made a fangame of the movie. (with a cult following like that, there has to be someone that, unlike me, could turn out something amazingly bad-on-purpose) :)

Would play a Mario Bros Movie game. I'm still waiting for a Mega Man hack based on the Brazil comics myself.

This rules, although sadly I can't seem to get my PSP to emulate it at proper speeds.

Does this game have anywhere near the level of humor the mainline Far East of Eden stuff has? I'm interested either way of course, but humor would go a long way to making the game stand out as something to definitely play. Glad to see it released.

Dumb Godzilla speculation:

Godzilla's motivations are not generally clear but I think most of the times he goes through / to a city it is because it's in the path of where he was going anyway or is the current location the monster / whatever he was on his way to fight at that time. I'm pretty sure Godzilla also hates imitations of himself, as he always goes after Mecha Godzillas and destroyed the "Godzilla Tower" designed to look like him, etc. Several of the monsters he battles are also somehow related to his cells in some way. Space Godzilla was both an "imposter" and made from his cells and additionally messed with his child so you know he showed up for that fight. I have seen the idea that Godzilla beats the shit out of all the other monsters because he is territorial, which also makes sense to some degree.

There is also the concept that Godzilla just doesn't care that someone went and built a city on a path he used to walk before being woken up by an atomic bomb.

I don't really give a shit about VR per se, but yeah I'd be interested in a lightweight monitor I could wear on my face and play controller based games with. Just lay in bed or whatever and play stuff, that sounds good to me for at least the occasional usage.

He's played more recent than the PSX, one of the earliest episodes involved playing Steel Battalion.

Just wanted to say thanks for your efforts on this. Michigan is a pretty unique game so it's nice to see it featured, especially when it involves digging up lost stuff.

The drawings are quite neat. Looking forward to seeing where this project goes.

Yeah, Princess/Princesa, the author's original character who he planned to use to kill off the Megaman cast and replace with his own. He got fired and she got written out. Pretty crazy stuff. If you wanna read it, check out the link in my signature, we did the translation for it. The other new character they introduced is the redhead Nastenka (or maybe Nastinka, since that's an actual Russian girls' name) who is Kalinka's bodyguard. I'm full of useless knowledge on this comic if you need to know anything.

I should mention too that it is somewhat based on the cartoon (Protoman is a villain), and Roll even wears that same outfit you are using the in first issue.

Well it's certainly interesting looking for a hombrew. I like how the Bomb fight was similar to Bomberman. Fighting two of the exact same enemies at once looks a little strange, maybe you should throw in some palette swaps?

Also, maybe you should check out the Brazilian Megaman comic for inspiration, they added a couple new female characters you could probably use. Here's a collage of girly stuff from said comic: (Not really safe work work, due to...robot nudity, kinda).

Clearly you should hack the game so every time someone says the scientist's name it plays a WATTSMAAAAN sound clip from the movie.

Pretty sure I sent an email with this to the guy who said no one could beat it, but here are scans of a strategy guide for the game.

I believe it's in Cantonese?

PS: the actual movie Project Eden owns. Really well made flick.

If you want to do a more Metroid-exclusive kind of game (not like a crossover), you should make one where you start deep inside a planet. Like in some underwater research lab, an entire "area" like that. You wake up without any knowledge of what's going on, go through the loops to unlock parts of the lab and escape into some deep terranian caverns. You'll find some "settlement" areas now and then, lab-like buildings, and as you explore more, you uncover more of the world you seem to be existing in. This is the inverse of the average Metroid game, where you leave a society and delve into a shadowy planet--here, you're in that shadowy place, and you don't have the solace of knowing why.

Sounds somewhat like Holdover.

Warning, featureless anime nudity.

Hack Little Nemo for NES to have new, less linear levels that allow you to use different suits to get through them in different ways, instead of "use this one to advance or else".

Have Samus actually hunting down some bounties.

Use what I'm calling the "silent input" mode.
Press Down+A on controller 2 right before the karaoke segment, then attempt to push A on controller 2 to the beat of the song. I guess. I'm not sure if that's what I was doing or I got lucky and passed it.

I'm not sure if that's better, or worse, than how it's supposed to be done normally. So in other words, perfect.

So how does the karaoke part work with this patch?

Maybe simple idea: Fix the controls for Bart vs The Space Mutants.
