I'm glad to hear that the translator is back.

Thank you. Unfortunately, the translator's gone again, so that's that.

I plan to add two games to my project list. One of them is Satsui no Kaisou, a unique adventure game which features a different interface from those who use Portopia's. It also gets very hard near the end. The other one, whose name is EarthBound (not related to the later SNES game), is for the PC-6001 and the FM-7. You're supposed to save a cat, whose name probably is Princess Confusion.

EDIT: EarthBound was the secret project mentioned earlier in this thread.

It's been a long time since I've started this post, and I just want to say that I've resumed contact with tummai, the translator to FDC, which I thought was long gone. I will start work again on the project, which has been in hiatus for several months. I will also restart work on Dragon Knight, which will be probably the first and last H-game I will work on.

The poster above is the one who's working with me on Famicom Detective Club. Anyone who visits my BBS already knows that.

Some news which I hope is a justification for this necropost.

Someone contacted me about Downtown Hot-Blood Story, and he has become the new translator! My wish is that he won't run away or disappear like the others. Also, I am resuming work on AGALTA, after several months of inactivity. Last of all, Famicom Detective Club. Expect something to happen in a few days.

Took a little while, but at least the patch got through in the end.
And here it is:

EDIT: By the way, I won't make a patch for the PC-98 version yet. But I will, eventually.

Some updates...

I give up trying to implement a DTE routine into Famicon Detective Club. It's just too complicated. There isn't enough space, even if I remove the dakuten/handakuten routine. And I can't find a clear solution for the RAM change between Disk 1 and 2.

I'll just start inserting the script, using Demiforce's notes as reference, and see what to make of it.

On the bright side, my new translator sent me the first draft of Downtown Hot-Blood Story. :)

Lastly if anyone can share with me some information on LZSS compression, it would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a possible source:

Are you using Windhex to display the text, because I haven't been able to get text to show up properly. More important, does this encoding support single-byte text?

To the first question, yes. The table file's in Unicode though, which WindHex does not support, so you need to convert it to S-JIS.

To the second, unfortunately, no.

How did Atata Meccha's text show up?

Well, mostly all of the TKO Soft-made PC88 games use the JIS format. Here's the JIS X 0213 table, which I used.

Some updates...

The whole script for RANCE has been dumped. Finally. :)

And here's a screenshot from one of my secret projects. I still need to translate the remaining Japanese script, then format the text.

Some small updates. RANCE's compression is cracked, with EsperKnight's help, and out of boredom, I have set up a BBS.

Famcom Detective Club is driving me mad. I can't find any free space in RAM for the DTE routine that can fit for the entirety of the game. The only possible solution right now is Garret's:

Quote
If you have a little free space, but not enough for a sizeable table, you could axe the dakuten code and relocate part of your DTE routine there. I've actually done this and it works quite well, but their isn't enough room for all of the DTE routine, so I had to split my routine up with jumps.

I got a ninjaproxy and it works, strange.

If that's the case, your country is probably blocking freehostia, and all of the sites under it.

I have implemented a DTE routine on a certain game. I just need to find a translator, then I can easily finish this.
Here's a screenshot comparison:

A Tantei Jaburo game?

Yes, but I think you mean Tantei Jinguji Saburou, or, as the DS localizations put it, Detective Jake Hunter. :)

Hmm, no. I don't have any significant problems with my website, for now.

What the heck happened to Dejap anyway? I mean the team. They just moved on? They sort of just disappeared after the Star Ocean release.

This should basically explain it:

Let DeJap remain in our hearts, for the translations they have given to us all.

Here's a title screen I need edited. The translation of the large kanji is "Famicom Detective Club." Thank you.
