Personal Projects / Re: Mega Man X2 Relocalization

Oh wait, didn't get notified here. What's on a seperate line exactly? Is that referring to anything in the hack or the forum messaging?

I believe he's referring to this spacing issue:

The closing parenthesis after Dr. Cain's name is on a separate line.

A nitpick about the parts system, there's a 2 "hour" (stage) wait time until you actually get the parts you picked.
Is it possible to reduce that delay so you can get it right away? Or a suggestion, maybe life/energy options can alternatively grant one of the two
parts you can get, and the other will be granted next stage. Don't know how difficult that would be to implement, but it would make the choice after
each stage a bit more meaningful, I think.

In the USA version of the game, Richter's Flame whip (Item crash with no sub-weapon equipped) functionally does nothing.
This is something that the Japanese 1.2 version of the game fixed, it was changed to Fire-elemental and does double damage over the normal whip.

I think most people didn't bother to use the Flame whip, because once you pick up a sub-weapon, you lose the ability for the rest of the game.
But I'd like to incorporate the fixes from the newer revisions of the game, if it's possible.

One thing that always bothered me about this game was regarding the Ultimate Armor capsule in Sigma stage 3. Zero gets the benefits of the capsule as soon as he steps in, but X needs to leave and then come back with the Ultimate Armor selected. I read that it has something to do with how the armor sprite overlays are done with this game, basically the Force (or Fourth) Armor is Unarmored X with the overlay while the other armors are just straight sprites with no overlay. Is this correct at all?
And more importantly, is it possible to make it so X can get the benefits from the Ultimate armor capsule instantly like Zero can?

Personal Projects / Re: Mega Man Zero 4 (GBA) - restore vocals, blood
« on: November 19, 2018, 07:44:27 am »
Finally finished the game. From start to finish, I found no problems.
It was great to see even the japanese version improved a bit.
Like everyone said before, this is a fantastic hack, thanks for making it.

Okay. I'm sure I know what erecyog mentions about other missing blood cutscene. Mid-ending battle. Have to look into that too.

Done. Posted.

You beat me to it, lol. That was the cutscene I was going to check, but as of the latest patch it's been restored already.

I played through the first stage side by side with the japanese version, and gameplay-wise
I haven't noticed anything unusual.

However, I noticed a difference in one of the cutscenes, in the beginning Zero
attacks some mooks with the saber and the blood effect was missing.
I remember there being one more cutscene near the end of the game with the "blood splatter" effect, so I'll
see if that cutscene is also missing the blood as well.

I've got MMZ3 save files to look into the hanumachine glitch:

https://mega.nz/#!bm5wmAKJ!Ag6yGB8Uyn7tZV4oRvH1YBav9H-dGV5T6dv4arr7UnU

There are 2 battery saves and 2 no$gba savestates in the zip file (1 each for USA and Japan versions).
The battery saves are in the base before mission select.
The 2 savestates are during the boss fight. I weakened the boss to 1 bar of health for easy kill.

I'm a big fan of the MMZ restoration patches, I hope this helps.
