We're now able to modify the Club Penguin games for the Nintendo DS thanks to a tool called EPFExplorer.

EPFExplorer is a tool for the Club Penguin DS games; Elite Penguin Force and Herbert's Revenge. It was made by Olivercomet.

Current features (as of version v1.3.3):

Opening and editing .ARC archives (Both EPF and HR)
Opening and editing .RDT resource data files (EPF. HR is viewing/exporting only.)
Exporting sprites to PNG sequence, GIF, or (for folders) sprite sheets.
Editing TSB/MPB and NBFC/NBFS/NBFP tiled images. (Both EPF and HR)
Exporting and reimporting Lua scripts.
Editing save files. (Both EPF and HR)
Exporting audio clips to .wav (PCM or ADPCM format wav, openable if FFMPEG is installed)
Exporting music tracks in .XM format, with all sample data
Opening and editing the game's DLC mission (download.arc)

The music replacing also currently has issues with some tracks (e.g. Dojo and Gadget Room, among others)

*you'll have to extract the core files from the ROM using tinke first.

I also been trying to access these files too for years, as well as the .arc and .rdt files, with no success. So far there's no way I know of that lets you access them.

There's this NES bootleg game called Q-Boy. You can't really play this game on every emulator because of the mapper. The mapper I think is a clone MMC3 or something. So I think it would be neat if there was a hack that uses a more compatible mapper since I've seen a lot of those hacks in the site. I want one just so I can play the game on anything including the Wii U/3DS Virtual Console via an injector.

The Dragon Ball Z fighting games on SNES were never finished, most of them at least, speciallly Super Butouden 2 which base rom was the French version.

So I had a bit of an idea with this, but I don't know if this is possible or not.
I've been wondering for a while if a hack that replaced the current mappers of the game to a more common mapper (like MMC3 for example), could be possible, since the mappers are based on the original MMC3/they're clones.
Why? Well, to make the game more compatible on other emulators of course, like Rocknes or Nintendo's Virtual Console on the Wii/Wii U/3DS.
I've seen mapper hacks on this site before so I think it's not THAT insane of an idea... I think.

I feel this was a mistake, but I like the guy, I enjoyed his videos, and this is a ROM Hack of an old game. I just thought that it was worth posting since this is the ROM HACKING SITE, after all.
Anyhow, I can ask the author of the hack if he can let me share the IPS patch here, just for the sake of removing the link and stop such convolution, also for the sake of archiving the hack in the first place.

This is a hack of Wolverine for the NES. It was made by Pacnsacdave this year I believe. Aside from featuring tons of sprites from other LJN games, it also tweaks a few things from the original game such as adding more lives, and having the AVGN as the final boss.

Not made by me, I'm making this thread just as a friendly reminder that this hack exists. I also made a .ips patch, but that's about it.

Do you have any specific ideas for new levels and the direction that you would want to take a potential hack?

Actually, now that you ask...
I would want to make longer levels that fits in with the controls and the character's abilities, like vertical scrolling and more warps like Stage 4-4 from the original game. Also making a more understandable plot and expand the original to it's fullest one would be very cool.

You know, this can be useful for a level editor, but ALSO for certain other things like TASing and such. I hope we can collab to make an awesome hack one day. 

Ok, so I really want to start hacking this game... but I'm a noob and I don't even know where to start. Any help on where to start?

I love me some Q Boy, by far the best bootleg game I've played. I'm curious though if it is possible to make more levels in the game to make a better experience.
A level editor for this game could be awesome since it has lots of things to work with. I could also check how to make new music for it too. If anyone else is interested, please let me know. 

I have an idea for a translation hack in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force: Herbert's Revenge on the DS.

I was thinking on translating the entire game in Japanese so people there can play it. Another hack to make all the dialogue gibberish like Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal does... just something I thought some time ago.
