I really think you should call this hack "Final Fantasy VII NES" not "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children NES" because somebody at some point is probably going to make an NES game based on the storyline from the film and you're gonna feel like a wanker. :D (that was a CollegeBinary reference, if anybody didn't get it)

Nesoid just gives a blank screen. :( I'm gonna try a NES core for RetroArch next

Congradulations on getting this done!! :D

This is exciting! I want to get it working on Android.

If it's possible to distribute it with any patches that help it work on more platforms, that'd be a good idea I think. ;)

NesterJ for PSP totally supports this game. (assuming you get a build of it that's late enough. i recommend the cool builds with the rewind feature) That's the main one I've played it on back when I played it, which was at a much earlier stage in the project.

Are there good Android emulator(s) that support this mapper, making this game playable on Android? I think I looked it up and tested some a along time ago but forgot my results and my phone has since been reset. Heh.

You need to make sure you're doing daily online backups, OK? :)

Could you post your latest patch like you used to just for paranoia backup purposes? :)

If necessary I'm sure somebody here (not me cause I'm broke) wants this game to be finished badly enough that they'd pay for the equipment you need to retrieve your data.

Please make sure to upload your latest patch as soon as you finish recovery just for backup purposes. ;)

Wow, that looks incredible. Don't remember what "Gaea's Cliff" was in the game, but still looks awesome. :D

For what it's worth, I think the new one looks better. However, "better" does not necessarily mean, "more like Final Fantasy VII." The newer one looks almost more SNES than NES while the older one looks easier for your character to lose their way in

That's absurd. He can't get in legal trouble for what other people do without his consent or involvement. Or if he can then it's about time to destroy that sort of government anyway and institute new government like in the Declaration of Independence.

Well, you know how corrupt Nintendo is. I think it's probably an agreement behind closed doors that he can't publicly state the details of.

The full registered version of METRO by Lori Johnson. It was a MS-DOS shareware game in 1993 that was actually quite innovative and humorous.

That type of thing resonates by giving the audience some connection to the story and characters that they would find appealing.
Appealing because it portrays Jehovah as Jenovah and the audience really hates Jehovah? Or appealing because it portrays Jenovah as a contrast to Jehovah -- as Sephiroth's false idol?

I don't think it's necessarily Crystal Dragon Jesus, there's not religious beliefs and large churches set up that are a main focus in the story of the game like they were in Final Fantasy Tactics.
What do you mean? Cloud meets Aerith in an abandoned church, which is the only place in Midgar where flowers grow. It's also an important fight scene in Advent Children. The "On the Way to a Smile" novel "Case of the Lifestream" has all kinds of pseudo-religious stuff in it. Genesis won't shut up about this "gift of the goddess" thing. Sephiroth appears as a one-winged angel. Religious themes and symbology permeate Final Fantasy VII. I just don't know what the heck any of it is supposed to mean, other than the obvious political environmentalist themes. Is it some kind of pantheism or nature religion being opposed to traditional organized religion? Or is it just natural good versus artificial evil without respect to different types of religion? I'm not sure.

No, I think they chose those combinations of traits and events to resonate more widely with their audience. I'm not sure how far they got in Japan, but in the West those themes would be recognized easily (if subconsciously).
What themes? Resonate how? Are you saying that it's really that they just have no idea what the hell they're doing and it's all just Crystal Dragon Jesus? http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrystalDragonJesus

So, do you think that Jenovah as the unseen, evil antagonist trying to destroy the planet is really some kind of diss on Abrahamic religion and/or Christianity?
