I don't count arcade titles.

Yeah the requirements for unlocking parts in MK7 is insane, MKDS is piece of cake, MKW a bit more difficult (never could reach 3 stars lol) and MK8 idk, I bought the Wii U with MK8 included since it's no longer console only....

I think it might be possible through save editing to get the golden parts, but as far I know you only can backup ghost data. (and if you like, sharing them with others! (which is not possible in an official way)

I agree that the last few titles are getting rubbish, MKW is literally the last good one imo even though they changed the mini turbo. Too bad online racing became shit thanks to hackers (idk how things are going through wiimmfi)

And you definitely either need a DS Lite or a phat for MKDS (imo DSI XL works too, but they are like "nope"), because you can then get consistent snaking. Amazingly my best record on rFS 3lap is done on my DSi XL which is hard to beat even when I try it on my phat, guess it's more like getting used to whatever handheld type you use :)

Been a long since my last visit!

Anyone who plays Mario Kart a lot? Any title counts, ranging from SMK to MK8 :)

I'm more into retro with MK64, I happen to be very good at this game (#24 in the world currently) and WRs are still improving almost every month!

I only miss MKDD in my collection, I did bought one, but the disc was somehow bad (couldn't load, but was recognized by my Gamecube, Wii has different error), so I had to return it. (unable to fix sadly)

I've recently began racing online in MK7, around 3,000 points now and rising. I never really bothered going into Time Trails as I hate the new mechanics, I prefer the good 'ol MT charge with wiggling your joystick or D-pad.

I've mentioned before to get Gradius II NES have a higher difficulty, but this comes also in mind:

Bullet hell version of Gradius NES! :D

I've noticed that the rising difficult is very slow after a few loops, so a bullet hell version would make it even more exciting :)

Is it possible to add more bullets fired without damaging the ROM?

That's pretty good :)

New update has come yesterday and I lost 2 positions in SC (190), but gained 10 places in NonSC (169).
Also something went wrong with some times from the former NSC Champion, he has some WRs wrong and 2nd place seems be no longer his current...
He was champion for nearly 10 years, in the period 2003-2013 we had a Dutch champion, but some epic moments has occured (lots of WRs swap) and now a German has taken over the crown. I wonder if he gets beaten one day... but it's very rare that the champion gets beaten these days :D 15 years back it was an usual happening...

I don't have submitted my new SC records yet, but I will reach Top 100 soon if I improve my final weak SC records which is about 3 years old and it's about time to catch up my skills in this (back then I had luck getting a big cut, 1/3 succes)

Gaming Discussion / Are you ranked high in the list of a game?

There are many sites who keeps track of new records from players of a game, some make new WRs, others places themselves high in the ranking list.

Is there anyone who is very good in a game and knows his/her position?

I'm ranked pretty high in Mario Kart 64 on both charts, Non-Shortcut 179th (and rising) Shortcut 188th (and rising). Those are overall positions, it only tells the average of your progress, but getting that high requires a lot of effort of all tracks. And I don't have a full set of times in the SC chart yet (like many others).

Currently I'm holding a record of Frappe Snowland 3lap Shortcut which places me 9th in the world, 2nd in my country (#1 happens to be a WR). But only 10 players (includes me) have managed to get the highest Standard (or title) of Frappe Snowland 3lap Shortcut and I'm the 10th player who reached God level (don't ask).
Today set a 2nd God time in the same track in SC but then for fastest lap, 6.27 PAL (5.21 NTSC) which is good for 25th in the world with a NTSC player.

My best position in the Non-Shortcut chart is also Frappe Snowland, but in 49th position and I'm currently not good enough to reach God level there (currently Legend B).

The website is:
Here you can find any information about the game and the current WRs, also a forum is there (link to it at the homepage!)

That's my story, I've joined the rankings in February this year at around 700th NonSC (SC about 300) and therefore I sucked at the game (I had records which were not even close to Top 500!)

I'm realizing just now after a member from the other forum had said thart Gradius II NES doesn't have a rising difficulty for each loop beaten, Gradius NES has one and it gets intense in loop 5.

Here's my idea:

A more difficult version of Gradius II NES!
Here are the things that can help to make it harder:

-More bullets fired from enemies
-Enemies moves faster
-Less Power Up capsules

Need help with a problem of Touhou 7.

When I want to start the game, it gain an error which is very long and no Japanese font, so it's a long message of something...
How do I fix this?

I just fixed the problem for Touhou 6 in Japanese, it had wrong names for the .DAT files

Never mind, it had the same problem as Touhou 6, but it was probably corrupted...
Also 8 responds again, 9 not yet.
Ultra works fine in Touhou 6, it does lag much more due to thousands of bullets (litteraly).

And I can almost do a No Miss in stage 1 :) best so far is 1 death and 4 bombs, but over 7,000 graze :o

Gaming Discussion / Re: Your #1 RPG you ever played?
« on: May 31, 2013, 03:16:22 pm »
First and best rpg for me is Diablo II.
First time I played it was back in 2004, I was pretty good at it, but stopped playing in 2007.

But I play it again since March this year, with expansion this time and I'm now fighting against Diablo itself. And he's strong :o I wonder how I defeated him some years ago... I used the same character (Necromancer).

We have Diablo III as well, but isn't playable for some reason on the windows 7 laptop...

The emulator I usee supports Kaillera, which is Jnes 1.1

Sadly I'm not able to do online because my PC isn't able to get internet now... but making replays is also fun :)

Are there still issues with my ROM? I don't know if the checksums are helpful...
But I'm busy with fixing the mistakes in the levels itself, includes the missing pipe in 1-1 and the misplaced output page (it remained the same after adding a page for the titlescreen).

At the moment I've only 2 walkthrough videos for worlds 1 to 4 (each 2). But 1-1 will not be affected by the added pipe (only jumping will be needed), same for other levels (pipe entry fixes and stuff...).

I've mistaken it by a zero, but I've beaten the story and not much above 5 million as result. Good ending No. 3
I'm retrying the story since some battles were awful, stage 6 was the hardest.

Also I'm trying to manage a No Miss and No Bomb run in Touhou 6 on Easy difficulty, highscore passed 60 million ;D but my first bomb used is at stage boss 4, a miss came later. Only tried it 3 times now :)

I'm soon gonna add my avatar :)

Right now I'm busy playing Touhou 7.5, it's funy and hard. Currently playing on Easy difficulty and now I'm about to defeat the final boss :) currently not much below 500,000 points, I don't know if that's a lot for this game.

I've got the checksums and hopefully I got it now correct, so hopefully it gets approved.

I'm considering to make videos too of it. A full run won't happen, but perfect runs in a stage maybe :)
At the moment I'm practicing for the stages in which I terribly fail at it, stage 3 and 4 mostly (4 even more).
Sadly stage 4 isn't unlocked :( lost the game before I was able to fight the stage boss...

But 31.422.662 is my new highscore on Lunatic :)

I've edited it, but it needs approving first...
Sorry for the mistake, I'm a beginner...

Weird things are happening with my submitted patch...
As far I've experienced, it doesn't crash or gets a black screen (although I don't use Nestopia). Jnes 1.1 is also buggy with this game, but for some reason it runs fine with me (tried it also on other computers).

Normal ROMs are fine, but I used Lunar IPS to create the patch, so maybe the error has to do with patch program differences?
Dropbox acts weird for some reason, but the zip itself is clean (maybe corrupted by download).

Sometimes a fixed ROM (with smbfix) may solve the problem since my hack is also a fixed ROM. Although some sounds and graphics are missing... don't know how to fix that actually.

Just noticed the JU ROM, I think it's because you used the JU version, I never used Japanese ones...
The ROM that I had was called mario.nes and it doesn't help a lot actually I guess..

Gaming Discussion / Touhou discussion

I play Touhou The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (Touhou 6) for a few days now and I went quickly for Lunatic difficulty.
Lately I've been making progress and my current highscore is 20.858.343 points, which is very good for a beginner :) I'm probably good at it because I played a lot Gradius (pretty similar to Touhou, but much easier in some cases).
Managed once to do a no miss run in stage 1 (gained 3 million though).

Anyone also plays Touhou?

Gaming Discussion / Re: Gradius NES 5 loop challenge
« on: May 01, 2013, 12:58:51 pm »
The US version only has 'Congratulations!' as far I know, at least the first 3 loops for sure.
Getting 10 million sounds like an impossible job, game gets intense after 2 loops and you really don't want to die in the final stage. You're doomed if you die near the end :o

EMB is a great game, but now I have to return to the beginning to advance (got all keys and powers if not mistaken).

I'll see what I can do with my current experience, I just got used to a behavior changing utility.
Sad thing is that the Remodeler is not fully English, a lot of things aren't translated and a lot are marked as unknown. I'm able to slow down the countdown :) or speed up.

For boss battles I like the ones which have some kind shield in which you must destroy in order to deal damage against the boss.
The final boss in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's inside story was my favorite because it was the most challenging one and yet pretty fun to do :)

In normal ones I like to deal as much damage as possible to defeat the enemy quickly, very fun to do when you're at high level.
