has butchered for years?
What do you mean by "butchered" for years? Disagree. Aside from Dawn of Mana which, yes, was pretty bad (still looked good though) I don't think Square has butchered anything.  Sword of Mana was pretty good/fun, Children of mana was alright, Legend of Mana was easy but still a blast to play.  But other than Dawn, none of those 'butchered" anything.

Some games are perfect as is, this would be one of them.  Excellent game that surpasses secret of mana and cleans up some of that game's flaws, which was itself a great game.

Still going strong after all of these years.  Pretty amusing recent episodes too.

I hope the Saturn can receive more attention someday. Tons of great games, but underrepresented on the emulation and translation scene.  I used to think it was my computer, all of the games are very choppy when trying to play various Saturn translations on it.  But now I am not so sure.  That same computer flawlessly plays any Dreamcast game I throw at it (Skies of Arcadia, Virtua Tennis, EGG, Time stalkers, etc.), PS2 games like Star Ocean 3, Tales of the Abyss, FFx, and FFXII play perfectly and it even worked very well when I tried Tales of Graces F, a PS3 game!  So now I think it is more the Saturn emulation scene can use some more love, more than anything about my computer.  Just my opinion along with some hope.

So is this a remake of the Genesis version? Or the next chapter?  The Genesis game was pretty cool, though cryptic as far as what to do, at times.

-More gold

Intro skip

This would be fantastic.  It is not a hard game, but does require quite a bit of grinding for gold to get the best equipment currently available.   I know in my 2nd playthrough I made it a point to map out 100% of every dungeon as I went through it and doing that usually allowed me to get enough money without too much extra grinding, compared with my first playthrough.

The English version was released in December 28, 2015.

As for the other matter, I can assure you that besides a few lines in Super Shell Monsters Story and one in Princess Minerva, non of our other translations contain any political jokes or other such things. We do our best to release quality translations for all to enjoy.

Thanks for the hard work, kudos!  It seems sometimes that those with the most to say (about other people's work) have the least to contribute.  Some people only seem to exist for the purpose of finding something to gripe and complain about.  Ignore them, keep up the good work, you and DD!  Thanks for the awesome translations that make it possible to play games in different languages! :)

I was perfectly willing to continue staying out of this thread as well as the other one and let discourse take its natural course despite some of the things I had said.

You decided to drag me back into it over a week after my last post. I'm justified in telling you to go stick your head in a pig.

I am done with you, going to play Wild Arms 3 for an hour and meet up with my gf in an hour for a drink.  Have fun with your pigs or whatever, dude.

GOOD JOB RM, push past the nonsense you get and keep up the nice work.

Some people can't exist unless they have something to complain about, just ignore them.  The patch is fantastic and the intro is no more than a second.  Look away if you don't like it, play the game without the patch, make your own patch, play a different game, rapidly push the B button and close your eyes, etc.  Tons of solutions, all of them easier than wasting energy to complain here.  I don't mind it. I check my Facebook or emails quickly during the intro screens of most games since most people are capable of multi-tasking these days so just do that.  Seems like the easiest solution if the patch is otherwise acceptable to people.

no offense but i thought there was a style guide + certain level of English grammatical requirement for news posts for the site

i couldn't finish reading this news post

Take a hike.  English isn't his first language.  Do you even speak another language or are you still focused on remembering to capitalize the pronoun "I"?

Thanks for all the effort, some people appreciate your hard work, ignore some of the other negative people.  Learning a second, or third language is tough, don't let some of these people get you down!

I think 7th Saga is a good example of a game ruined by the localization team. I've played the retail US version and the hack that 'rolls back' to the JP stats and there's no doubt the game was destroyed by Enix when they brought it over.

I have beaten 7th Saga twice but it is a legit tough game, especially early on.  It gets a little more manageable as you go on though.  But I really don't get people who say Lunar 1/2 for the psx were "BS" tough.  I beat both games twice, never had any issue, and it's hard for me to see where the issue was.  I think both had very reasonable difficulty.  Maybe it is people running from too many battles?  Then of course bosses will be tough.  I got into battle with every enemy I saw and never ran and had no issues.

considering nobody had talked about it in 2 months, and the fact that the game's been out for 26 years, i doubt it's a problem

It has happened before....People go back decades ago and complain about things often.  The actor who played Zack Morris apologized for his Native American costume in one of the episodes, that was the early 90s.  Apu from the Simpsons has been around since the early 90s too, but only NOW is his character an issue.  After 30+ years....Many more examples.

I can understand having issues with SSF, as it's not the most stable of emulators when it comes to config, but I don't see how Mednafen wouldn't be considered "good.  It's highly stable, has a reasonably low list of known bugs and is pretty easy to setup.

I have used emulators for systems like the PS2 or Dreamcast that are a lot more intuitive and work beautifully.  I don't want to take away from this game anymore though as it looks really cool.  It is just a bummer because I've never found a Saturn emu that is intuitive or works well.

Thanks for the clarity on LM3, maybe I saw it on another site, if Damarsman had it, maybe that is where I saw it.  Or maybe it was a very similar game somewhere else.

Good luck on your future projects.

Mednafen & SSF are both good saturn emulators imo
No, they aren't.

Looks cool, the sad thing is, there isn't a good Saturn emulator (Even Dreamcast has better).

What did the PS3 do that the 360 did not? Or are you that much a fan of Ni No Kuni and the late state NIS America efforts? I would have probably had the 360 edge it out for most of its lifetime (the PS3 got a bunch of ports somewhat late in the day), and if you go in for the exclusives there then Magna Carta II does a lot for me.
I am also curious what is on the PS4 to have it rank that high, especially if you don't count ports/remakes (none of which particularly did anything interesting that I am aware of)? Ditto 3ds, especially as that would have it above the megadrive that otherwise gave me loads of good stuff including Phantasy Star 2 and 4.
Equally while I am the last person to blow smoke up the arse of Xenoblade yawnicles I would have thought the Wii had more to say in a lot of that.

PSP wise... care to go there. I mean if you were a fan of dungeon crawlers as seen by Japan then it was the place to be, and I think I will be one of the few to stick up for Crimson Gem Saga at some level but if the PSP was an RPG machine it is because it had pretty nice 8 and 16 bit emulation as well as PS1.

Now I am somewhat appreciative of the Saturn library but if you ranked it that high then some might care for elaboration as Saturn for most means arguably the best 2d bomberman and not much else.

Those are not my personal rankings.  The numbers are compiled after a number of other people have voted for their top 10 systems. The numbers are the result of those people ranking.

Dont think he ever considered translating Nijiiro no Maseki. If anyone ever wants to hack it, hit me up.

My translations would definitely pale compared to Gideon's tho!!!!

Love your work dude.

At this point, this is all I could find.:

Quote from: Eien Ni HenHey guys,

I don't know how much Gideon has told you about his progress on LM3, but I should let everyone know I'm his translator for the project. I've been working on it off and on for over a year, doing everything from kanji ID to the full script translation. I'm currently on my second draft of the script and hope to have it 100% finished (polished and all) by January at the latest.

I thought it was only fair to give you a heads up on our progress with the game. =)

Eien

This was in 2010.

I know another group that is working under the radar on Rejoice.  That one he 100% has on his page. But ya.  I am now even more sure at one point it was on his old page.  But maybe he canceled work on LM3, but it was not mentioned in one of his recent news postings when mentioning other canceled projects like 3x3 Eyes, Fire Emblem, Goemon 2, Sutte Hakkun, and Romancing SaGa 2.

Apparently, some ppl with nothing better to do than bitch about a 25+-year-old video game harassed him to the point where he had to go into "digital" hiding.  Some of the things they were saying and doing to him were worse than what they were complaining about. Ridiculous.

The new page format for AGN looks really good! Lovin it!

I feel like some information or pages were lost in the transition.

I swear there was a page for Little Master 3 (snes) on the old page but don't see anything on the new page.

I know he dropped some things, according to this:

"Second, I'm announcing that the projects for 3x3 Eyes, Fire Emblem, Goemon 2, Sutte Hakkun, and Romancing SaGa 2 are being canceled."

But couldn't find anything else on LM3 and it was not included in that list above so not sure.
