Why translate the same game a bazillion times?

Personal Projects / Re: Tengai Makyou Zero translation project

No way. You did a very great thing by making this game available to a new audience.  Don't let a few people who find it hard to get into older games period get to you. As time goes on, more and more people will experience this and have a great time. I think the main roadblock here was the lack of emulator support during the hype period, but the internet moves in cycles and someone, somewhere will shine a light on this again (maybe a Something Awful let's play, or something on a well-respected YouTube channel) and even more people will appreciate it.

This is actually true because i've sent this Twitch Streamer (and Youtuber i guess) named Vinesauce a couple of Russian PlayStation 1 Bootlegs and along a few extras for his stream, so now while people are looking at these games a couple of people we're highly interested in wanting a English Translated Germs: Nerawareta Machi, Капитан Пронин: Один против всех aka Captain Pronin: One against all & Manic Game Girl!

So it has nothing to with people not interested in them (well usually in this community it is the case if it isn't yet another Final Fantasy or Megaman untranslated or retranslation of one already done a million times yet again) is that mostly people don't know anything about it or a popular YouTuber has yet to play it.

Legend of sword and fairy (Saturn) - Removed black bars and increased resolution (and some english menu).
The old viewing area was 320x224 - 4x24 = 316x200. New viewing area is real 352x240.

THANK GOD!!! I've been waiting for a semi translation and improving on the resolution on this version making it much more playable now!

I'm really pleased with the fonts myself, although I cant really take credit of the general font itself, since I simply replicated Tahoma for that purpose (it's more or less pixel identical)
And the graphical texts I simply remade only because a small amount of them were written in japanese and I wanted all of them to have unified look, so the english ones like the "quest completed" here had to be redone too.

It's starting to really look nice overall.
I'm currently working over the status effect icons, and various little tidbits I missed or wasn't happy with so far but in general I'd say it's about 95% done as far as graphics goes. My personal favourite as far as the graphics goes is by far the "upgrades" I imported from the ps2 version though.... so many cups of coffee and packs of smokes went into making this happen. (curse the miserable soul who packed the files on the ps2 version.)

We also had a little conversation about an idea I came up while being bored out of my mind that we might even redo the main logo for the game too, to give it a similar look than the official english release of Trinity, souls of zill o'll had. Trinity being the only official english release of the franchise ever, we played around with the idea of having our little english patch follow in the footsteps of the official prequel.

here's my initial concept of it, though nothing has been set in stone and at this point, it's still not even decided whether or not we will be doing this change at all. Nonetheless, hearing opinions of things never hurts anyone.

Just leave it the way it is because you never know some people might be highly disappointed with the change honestly

This was also released on the MS-DOS in case you wanna add the same translation patch to that version as well and for those who are still having trouble with Neko Project II emulator

Awesome Release guys!! :woot!: Been DYING to play this one for a very long time now

Arcana Strikes (Sega Saturn).
I'm not strong in English translation, but the game is still amenable to hacking.

0_0!! Yet another excellent attempt at translating a Sega Saturn game! This is defintely the time for us saturn gamers/owners to arise and shine

@GHANMI Wait! the Japanese PSN version of Policenauts was censored?!

There's Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Kids Red book & Black book on the Gameboy Color plus a remake or "upgrade" on the PlayStation 1

There's also Dragon Quest Monsters 1 & 2 on the Gameboy Color and a Collection of both games remade/upgraded on the PlayStation 1 too

Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 (incomplete):

I'm not sure if this will be so useful in general, as turning these videos into patches would be a problem (sitting through a watch and typing everything down has got to be painfully long...) But it can help players.

At least it's better than translating it yourself

@CyberWarriorX Hey man long time no talk, is this project still being worked on by anychance? if so, there's a new method in running Sega Saturn rips/backups on real hardware (not modchip or swap trick) but now you can easily run them by softmodding a Action Replay 4M Plus or Gameshark cartridge and then run the burnt disc and test your translations that way nowadays! ;)

Here's the link if you wanna know more:

Your translating this game! Awesome! I've never would've thought anyone be doing this specific game, good luck on the project ;D

I was so disappointed by Crisis Core (PSP) that I have very low expectations for the FF7 remake.

Crisis Core wasn't that bad, though the battle system could've been some-what better honestly.

Times like this are exactly the reason why i think the Sega Dreamcast beats the PlayStation 1 & 2 brands when it comes to quality disc drives in these consoles! ;) and yet some idiots think the PS2 are the greatest things on earth when it comes to build quality xD
