Since this is a re-translation, I'm curious about the reason for re-translating it in the first place. Did the original English version lack certain parts found in the original (text and/or gameplay in general), or was the translation simply so horrid that it alone justified this project?

Damn you Square... This has been discussed before, so I'll drop it.

But for the record, the translation regards the US version, which was named FF3 unless I'm mistaken.

Just that I've been planning to replace those screenshots of FF3 with some that shows how the game actually looks. Theres no graphics-hack involved after all.

Looks like someone used my SuperEagle'd shots of FF3... This is embarrassing.   :P

Aw well, 2.1 is due any day now, so I'll post some new ones until then.

Anime-licence titles are the best. :D

But seriously, V-Gundam rocks. Gotta play that one.

Aeris130, 20 years old. Swedish romhacker/translator. Is blissfully grateful for the fact that he can translate games from english to swedish while avoiding asian tounge.

I've studied some japanese though, and once spent 4 month translating "Chibi Maruko Chan" (Snes) from Japanese to Swedish (it turned out rather crappy to be honest, much because of the fact that I hadn't learned about pointers or DTE by then). Only to find out that the menus were compressed, so I had to release a rather unfinished translation (but hey, I learn form my mistakes :P).

I've been an active member of the scene (not the community) for about 3 years (at least I think it was), being geared more towards translations rather then hacking. Can't say for how long I've been playing videogames, but I was young and there was duckhunt, SMB3 and battletank. That's about all I can remember.

Nowadays, I usually play Saturn games, with the hopes of sometime in the future make a tiny Saturn-based translation (as in, not Sakura Taisen or any of the likes). Honestly, that console is by itself reason enough to hack roms. Sadly, it would seem that its massive collection of untranslated games is rivalled only by the complicity involved inhacking them. Sight...

I don't really have a lot to say, so usually I just keep quiet. And that's about it.
