and I was able to get the music to play during the track selection portion by compressing the hexcode into the ROM using Stifu's "Epic Edit" and his extensive documentation on asset locations (https://epicedit.stifu.fr/smk_doc/). However, when it comes to replacing the uncompressed music, I am lost.
I thought I would simply need to replace the hex code for the uncompressed music with my own code and replace the remaining extra space I didn't use with 00. For example, to replace Yoshi's victory music, which is from 29BD4 to 29D12, I would copy my hex code, navigate to 29BD4 in a hex editor, replace the original code with mine, then fill in remaining spaces up to and including 29D12 with 00. However, doing this resulted in no music. I tried replacing the code incrementally one hex value from the start of this region and testing each time, thinking perhaps the first value or values were necessary as pointers or something, but each test yielded either silence or nonsense noise.
