Newcomer's Board / Advice on finding pointers using PPSSPP

Hello, i am just beginning at romhacking and decided to start with Tales of Rebirth (PsP), so far i have pointer tables for  things like items, equipment, skills and the like, but even though i know where the menu text is inside the ISO and where is loaded into memory and can't find any pointer to it. Can someone give me an advice at this?

Hello, i just started romhacking and decided to go for PsP games, can someone explain to me what are certain files used for.

The files are:

-UMD_DATA.BIN
-PARAM.SFO
-EBOOT.BIN & BOOT.BIN
-*.PRX FILES
-lib*** FILES


Specially the eboot.bin, inside those i have found in in-game text, pointer tables and text that looks like some kind of script, in English even in Japanese games, some goes like "initialize file system" or "startChat %d".

Hello, i am edited some text of the game Luminous Arc 3 for NDS, but in the game the edited characters shows as *s. 2 byte english characters shows just fine the problem are the one btye ones.

Hello, a i am trying to translate part of Tales of Rebirth (PPS) using Kruptar 7. The problem is: after added the pointers, insertion range and editing the text, it doesn't insert it in the target file, all i see is the the text has been moved but its the same old text. Thanks in advance.

RESOLVED:
It was indeed inserting the text but the old one before editing, looks like the ptDestTable property of the  Pointer List item must be set BEFORE adding any pointer; already inserted pointers will not update their prDestTable property when its changed in the Pointer List

Newcomer's Board / Help using cartographer

Hello, i have been trying to use cartographer to extract some text from a game but i cant make it worked. If i use RAW mode then only the first line comes well and the rest is garbage, if i use POINTER RELATIVE the cartographer simply crash after creating the script file.

RESOLVED:

I figured it out, the crash problem was that i was not using the 0x prefix in the pointer START/END addresses, now it works perfect.

I was trying to extract some text from Tales of Rebirth (PsP)
