Gaming Discussion / Mario Kart fanatics here?
« on: October 20, 2015, 08:05:17 pm »
Been a long since my last visit!

Anyone who plays Mario Kart a lot? Any title counts, ranging from SMK to MK8 :)

I'm more into retro with MK64, I happen to be very good at this game (#24 in the world currently) and WRs are still improving almost every month!

I only miss MKDD in my collection, I did bought one, but the disc was somehow bad (couldn't load, but was recognized by my Gamecube, Wii has different error), so I had to return it. (unable to fix sadly)

I've recently began racing online in MK7, around 3,000 points now and rising. I never really bothered going into Time Trails as I hate the new mechanics, I prefer the good 'ol MT charge with wiggling your joystick or D-pad.

Gaming Discussion / Are you ranked high in the list of a game?

There are many sites who keeps track of new records from players of a game, some make new WRs, others places themselves high in the ranking list.

Is there anyone who is very good in a game and knows his/her position?

I'm ranked pretty high in Mario Kart 64 on both charts, Non-Shortcut 179th (and rising) Shortcut 188th (and rising). Those are overall positions, it only tells the average of your progress, but getting that high requires a lot of effort of all tracks. And I don't have a full set of times in the SC chart yet (like many others).

Currently I'm holding a record of Frappe Snowland 3lap Shortcut which places me 9th in the world, 2nd in my country (#1 happens to be a WR). But only 10 players (includes me) have managed to get the highest Standard (or title) of Frappe Snowland 3lap Shortcut and I'm the 10th player who reached God level (don't ask).
Today set a 2nd God time in the same track in SC but then for fastest lap, 6.27 PAL (5.21 NTSC) which is good for 25th in the world with a NTSC player.

My best position in the Non-Shortcut chart is also Frappe Snowland, but in 49th position and I'm currently not good enough to reach God level there (currently Legend B).

The website is:
Here you can find any information about the game and the current WRs, also a forum is there (link to it at the homepage!)

That's my story, I've joined the rankings in February this year at around 700th NonSC (SC about 300) and therefore I sucked at the game (I had records which were not even close to Top 500!)

Gaming Discussion / Touhou discussion
« on: May 13, 2013, 02:50:03 pm »
I play Touhou The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (Touhou 6) for a few days now and I went quickly for Lunatic difficulty.
Lately I've been making progress and my current highscore is 20.858.343 points, which is very good for a beginner :) I'm probably good at it because I played a lot Gradius (pretty similar to Touhou, but much easier in some cases).
Managed once to do a no miss run in stage 1 (gained 3 million though).

Anyone also plays Touhou?

ROM Hacking Discussion / How do I add levels in Super Mario Bros. NES?
« on: April 21, 2013, 03:27:33 pm »
So far that I've found that was useful is editing the level pointers, but how do I recognize one in Translhextion?
I want to hack SMB NES with more levels and maybe with A-D Worlds as in Lost Levels, but I'm not starting with it until my other hack is nearly or totally bug free (and mistakes).

And will SMB Utility still accept the ROM with the added levels to edit it?

Gaming Discussion / Gradius NES 5 loop challenge
« on: April 19, 2013, 03:09:00 pm »
I've managed to do some challenges of this game some time ago, like No Miss Runs (no death) and no shield.

But now I'm trying to survive for 5 loops long. My most longest survival so far is loop 4 stage 2, I got killed by a turret right after I lost the shield.
I survived for more than a hour in the insane high difficulty :) except loop 1 and 2 are easy to do.

Also got proof that I survived it that long, I always record my gameplay with Jnes which is in .jmv, I love the way how it's done with it. It saves a lot of space.

ROM Hacking Discussion / New level hack of Super Mario Bros. NES
« on: April 16, 2013, 01:46:15 pm »
I've been working for a long time to make this level and I've finally completed this one :)

It's called: Super Mario Bros. The New Super Adventure. The game is very hard to beat, it's very challenging too and frustration will be in there too.

Here's a video from me testing the first levels: Test ROM hack (it's pretty old)
Also got my first part of the walkthrough done: Part 1

I'm gonna submit my hack soon on this site, so I hope that it will be a hit here too. Already 2 likes with my walkthrough (which is a start...)
