Eh, I think I'm more offended that he considers me "dear". That's weird.

Also, whales! And hunting! And Assassin's Creed... I've only played one for the PSP and it was pretty meh. I'm surprised there's a fourth one coming out.

You don't think that hurt him?  You think it's okay to hurt him like that just because you admit you're an "evil jerk"?  It's not okay Kaio.

Eh, I'm used to it (doesn't hurt me). 'sides, it's true that I'm not really the brightest star on the sky. I've been trying to put more thought into what I say, though, in order to get less of this sort of criticism.

Does everyone else feel the same way?  Or is Kaio being extreme here?

Kaio is being extreme, imo. But I guess he'd say the same about me.

Kinda like the style, but those really don't look like turtles much. Specially with the oversized cranium that makes them look like a human skull with a beak rather than a turtle.

Also splinetr looks more feline than rodent.

When I got to those issues, I was kinda taken off-guard a bit. You kinda have to warm up to the style a bit.

My point, though, is that the Turtles have received this treatment before.

There used to be a problem with that warning when the site got upgraded or something a while back. But that got fixed recently.

I wonder how much you'd really enjoy Super Mario 3D Land, Talbain... Granted, I really enjoyed the game, but it was really just a sort of "easy fun". Definitely not the Super Mario Bros. of old where Bowser was REALLY trying to get you to lose.

Big O notation is always the upper bound, iirc. I'll check my book in a bit, if I can find it.

Big Oh = T(N) is O(F(N)) if there are positive constants c and N0 such that T(N) <= cF(N) when N >= N0.

That really doesn't help much*. However, to contrast Big-Oh: "Big-Omega [...] is the lower argument". It's not used commonly except in "more advanced analysis".

Is it just me or is it bullshit we can't get the silver XL here?

Very smelly and putrid indeed. Almost as bad as if it were dry and old.

There's no shame in an original model.  I had the wherewithal to upgrade, and decided to do so, mainly for eye strain purposes.  I really need to upgrade my DSi to the XL as well.

Yeah, I want one for the bigger screen. I can see well enough on my original model, but the XL's screen is just so comfortable...

Oh. Hmm... I don't have a smartphone anymore and I'm not sure if I can rely on Gamestop's connection either...

Either way, it's not like I can afford it right now anyhow! XD

Internet connectivity isn't needed? If that's the case, maybe I'd try it...

Red. Always go for red!

... Well, my favorite color is red. :P But dangit that video makes me want to trade mine for a 3DS XL. :'( But hardware locked games and all that.

That looks about right. It's not really a problem, though. If you have access to a Best Buy, they should have one you can demo.

Keeping with the Tomb Raider trend, here's one from admittedly close to 13 years ago:

My god, reading that was painful. So very painful.

...and whatever happened to Samus...? :S

But that's if you play them at the DS resolution, right? Or do they look good even at 3DS resolution? I admit, it took getting used to to play DS games on my 3DS because of how ugly it all was...

I've played with the 3DS XL at Best Buy and I honestly think it's better than the regular 3DS. The rounded corners are good and the pixel density isn't bad at all. I don't know how regular DS or VC games would look on it, though.

I wasn't really all that motivated to catch every bug there was, or whatever other sidequests there were.

It's hard at first when you're getting used to the MotionPlus controls (you have to use your wrist; like wrist flicking), but after that, it gets really easy. iirc, anyway. Maybe I'm viewing it through hate glasses because it disappointed me... :S

Damn it I keep forgetting I have Skyward Sword!   :-[

It's pretty easy and short. You could get through it in maybe a few weeks playing 1 hour a day. Probably no more than a month. If you play more than that a day, then it should be over soon. So far, reception for the game has been hit or miss, but it's the most story driven Zelda of all as of late.

Well, this is a reboot...

But yeah, I guess I was stuck in another train of thought...  I did notice that Lara's deaths in the original were more generic and less violent. I guess it's the nature of the increase in power in the hardware? I don't know. I'll leave now, as I obviously don't care much for Tomb Raider.

Wasn't Lara Croft always overly sexualized...?

Anyhow, looking at the death videos, I see that the deaths are indeed more gruesome, but it's not something that hasn't been done before (Resident Evil 4). Aside from the rape insinuations, of course (because that'd emasculate Leon...?) But I noticed another disturbing thing: All the enemies in this new Tomb Raider games seem to be men. Buff, bearded, always-turned-on-and-primed-for-action men.  I saw no women fighting against Lara here. And it seems like there's a lot of men on that island- Like the whole island's population is big, bearded men.

So, aside from the fact that Lara has been to act more submissive (maybe a side effect from TR now being owned by a Japanese company...?), it also sends the message that men can't control themselves around women.

Anyhow, I never cared about Tomb Raider in the first place. :S
