Newcomer's Board / Met Spawner in Mega Man 2?
« on: November 27, 2018, 08:36:35 pm »
I was trying to figure out a way to repurpose the unused Met generator in Mega Man 2. So I was wondering if there was any possibility of making a Met spawner similar to the Telly spawner?

I can't find anything about Super Mario World sprite decompression.

I am wondering if there is a utility to help decompress sprites but I can't find any. The only one I could find was for Mega Man X3, GraphiX3, but when I tried to extract the .rar file that's created, it says this:

How can I fix this?

Also, how can I decompress Super Mario World?

I'd love to see you reinsert the prototype Sigma sprites because they look SO much better than the used ones.

Newcomer's Board / Has anyone made a Mega Man X4 redub hack?
« on: September 23, 2018, 06:49:24 pm »
I love Mega Man X4, like a lot. But many people that have played the game and have the same complaint. THE ATROCIOUS VOICE ACTING! I looked online to see if any redub hack existed for the game to replace the voices in the cutscenes from Wayne Doster (Zero) and Ruth Shirashi (X) to Lucas Gilbertson who voiced Zero in Command Mission and X8. Luckily, Lucas did do redubs of 3 scenes: The death of Iris, vs. Colonel, and vs. Sigma. He didn't do the rest of his cutscenes though. Unfortunately, Mark Gatha is now a doctor and hasn't done a redub like Lucas. If I lived near either of them, I would pay money to hopefully finish a redub to be put in a hack.

Is there a specific reason one ring is never collected in the loops? Also changing the ring sound would be a really good idea, the original is too high pitched.

Sics : Your sprites are incredible! But the object of my hack is to make Super Mario Bros look as much like the SNES version as possible.

RealGaea : I wouldn't know how to do that. But I could I would.

Sephirous : I would need a bigger rom and someone to compose it in Famitracker.

NES Boy : I might, if I can get someone to compose them in Famitracker.

roney33 I tried to stay as accurate as possible to the SNES version. Those sprites don't really fit.

I have been working on a hack that makes Super Mario Bros look much better and like the SNES version. I used several hacks as inspiration, such as sprites. Here are some screenshots:

Newcomer's Board / How to make FCEUX support mappers and FDS games?

There are many games I would like to play, but they are not compatable with FCEUX, I get messages like this when trying to play them:

I added the "You're Hit Bad!" Cutscene graphic into the rom.

Programming / Re: How to edit Levels using hex?

CadEditor is a cool tool, but it needs everything just right in order to work. It looks as if you clicked Open without having a config file or ROM file selected, so the application doesn't know what to open.

For the config file name, go to the folder in CadEditor called settings_raf_world, then choose Settings_RafWorld-1.cs. For the ROM file, navigate to where your RafWorld ROM is. Then click Open.

Squall_FF8 has some great insight here. You should be able to change the level geometry in CadEditor for the Japanese version of the ROM, then paste your modified data back into the US version.

There is also a user named lancuster who has made several config files for CadEditor. Perhaps you could enlist his help, so you can edit the US version directly.
I did exactly what you said, but it still gives me an error. This tool is either broken, or I am just incredibly dumb  :P
