What's the proper way to find a cheat-code for the PSP game 'worms battle island US-version'? I found the address for Infinite round-time and also for infinite turn-time, but it worked only for one round. I think the timers' address kept changing. Can any experts guide me on how to find the fixed address to freeze the timers? Thank you.

Can't say I ever found NES shadowgate very tedious on the controls front, though it was the first and main version I played so maybe I got used to it.

In theory it is not very hard (finding a hook for the buttons probably being the hardest) and you only need to create a little push-pop type arrangement and reset a flag so you know where you are at.

If you just want it to go to 00 (personally I would go with middle of the screen, or maybe near the menus, but you do what you want) if your NES emulator or flash cart has a cheat option you can toggle on then make a couple of cheats to set the X and Y values to what you want and just fire the cheat on (or on and off if that needs to be the thing).

how about adding mouse controls? ie mouse moves the game cursor and click simulates press (this is even better than my idea from before). if it is touchscreen, touch = clicks at the area. is this more complicated to do, are there any emulators that can use mouse like this for point and click games?

since the back and forth with the cursor is tedious, how to make a hack where
if i press b, the cursor go to '00 - Look' (as seen above) and if i press b again it will go back to the previous position on the exploration-screen.
if this toggle-b function is hard how about pressing b takes you to '00 - Look'

Some monsters, when their animation?-speed is increased loses their ranged attacks. DoS' Manticore, OoE's Bone pillar (Maybe some others too) shows fast animation of preparing to launch their fireball but no fireball is seen. Even if you are in the fireball's path you don't take any damage. Thank you.

The way they removed some of the japanese voices was not by deleting them from sounddata.dat. They changed the code to no longer play the sfx for them. In order to add them back you'd need to examine the asm code of the japanese version to locate all the different places they call a function to play a sound effect which don't exist in the US version, then write asm code to add each call back to the US versions.


I'm new to rom editing, can you please give me pointers on where(which files to edit)and how to start(what software to use)?

LagoLunatic, is it possible to do some hack for DoS involving soul levels? That is, on the soul selection screen, you can change the levels of the souls. Ex. If i have 7 Persephone souls i can increase/decrease the soul's level between 1-7 anytime without having to use Yoko's soul release system? Thanks.

If the button combo (L and A on the title screen) is not enough I made a cheat for it a few years back

If you want to disassemble the game and find the location (as mentioned in the thread linked I just found the flag the button combo sets and made a cheat for that) and do whatever as ASM then that is all you.

If you just want a basic hardpatch of it then grab a copy of DSATM.

Depending upon your flash cart you may also want to fix the crashing issues.

is this reply to me? I was talking about Dawn of Sorrow where only few japanese voices were left intact in the US rom. Wasn't talking about portrait of ruin .

US DoS ROM has deleted voice clips. tried using JP ROM's sound file but no change because its; sounddata.DAT is exactly the same as the US'. Help please. Thank you.
