If there's anything else, spritewise, that you need me to do, just let me know.

Also I haven't been active since I was moving houses.

Programming / Rescripting a hack for loved ones
« on: January 14, 2021, 02:18:36 am »
It's always sad when a relative of yours dies while you are working on a rom hack. It means that you may have to modify the game's script to add a screen dedicated to them. Have any of you guys had that experience before?

As I was saying, here are Princess Toadstool/Peach's and Toad's SMB3 sprites. I didn't have the All-Stars rom open when I made these sprites but instead had the NES SMB3 rom open. Luckily, I remembered the color palettes from All-Stars.

However, Toad had a purplish vest color in the Japanese boxart of SMB3 so I don't know if you want to base it off that or keep it blue like All-Stars.

Oh, and if you're wondering where the unused Toadstool sprites are located, they should be with some of the castle sprites.

Update time for me: I'm still working on Peach's and Toad's sprites for SMB3 (I still don't know if you've taken care of that), but I have updated the unused SMB2 sprites. Here's what I did:

-Changed Toad's throwing expression
-Changed the shading on Mario's and Luigi's gloves in the character select sprites
-Added one pixel to separate Luigi's shirt and glove
-Fixed Mario's foot on his small throwing sprite

I already inserted these into my copy of the rom if anyone is asking.

I really don't know if you're gonna do SMAS+SMW but I have started on a concept for Mario.

And I'm up for doing any SMB3 stuff, if you haven't done Princess Toadstool/Peach or Toad yet, I can take care of it for you.

I don't know if you have started on any SMB3 sheets, but I have done a World Map Mario and Luigi concept. Feel free to use, that is, if you'd like to

Sorry for not being as active here as I was. As of right now, I'm working on unused SMB1 sprites. I love the sprites that were done so far. Can't wait for the final release.

And... here they are. After hearing you were done with the Super Mario and Luigi sprites, I ended up editing them to make them unused (for Small Mario, I ended up redrawing from scratch)

As I said before, these are unused sprites, so you are more than welcome to place them in for the unused sprites.

Mecha Mouser sounds nice, but if it's not possible, I'm glad I offered an idea.

I created a folder with the unused sprites for SMB2:
and while I was at it, I made a few unused sprites from SMB1.

So I may have edited this off-hand, but I edited unused sprites for SMB2.
-Mario, Luigi, and Toad (ALL Super) may look like the used versions with a slight bit of changes, but for small and Peach, I may have also referenced the NES.
-The blue on Peach is somewhat different from what is planned... I think.
-There are a few flaws, example: the shading in Mario's gloves for character select is red.
-This isn't mandatory to use, but if you like to, and maybe fix a few flaws.
WARNING: This image is 4x the actual height.

And about the Mouser options... I edited the pink and bluish-green palettes
Pink Mouser: R:31 G:22 B:25    R:30 G:10 B:16    R:26 G:2 B:9
Bluish-Green Mouser: R:22 G:31 B:28    R:10 G:30 B:24    R:2 G:22 B:16
-This isn't mandatory to use, but if you like to, go ahead
WARNING: This image is 4x the actual height.

There should be plus(+) and minus(-) buttons. Just press whichever until you can see the player's graphic banks.

Sorry. Wacky memory makes me ask some questions again.

Hello. I would like to know if there is some sort of editor for SMB2 levels and character properties for Super Mario All-Stars. I know one exists for the NES, but I would like to know if there is one for All-Stars

ROM Hacking Discussion / SNES Text Editor
« on: September 18, 2020, 05:23:16 pm »
Let's say I wanted to change text in or translate a game for the SNES, heck even change some title screen options, is there any way I can do so?

Please and thank you

May I suggest or wonder if you're planning on something?

I am prepping for a Super Mario All-Stars hack myself and I figured you would want to change the peachish-orange on Mouser to pink for World 1 and seafoam green for World 3. In my opinion, it makes it easier to tell which Mouser you're fighting, just like the NES.

Again, this isn't mandatory but if you like, I'll go ahead and pull up the color palettes.

Thanks, but I mean changing them in the ROM file. Like, say if I wanted to change Mario to Wario for instance.

Hello I would like to know if there are any tile editor programs out there for SNES games, like for example, changing the text in an SNES game.

Personal Projects / Re: Super Mario All-Stars Redrawn

Hi. Just found this project you were working on. I just wanted to say that you're doing a really great job with this. I heard that you were going on a haitus, so if possible, I would love to try this out once this is released.

Find data of those sounds and export it to other game. If games use different sound engines, this data should be properly converted first.

Also if you end up with data longer than in other game, you need to put it into free space and change pointers to it.

I don't think it will require any coding.
Not sure what you mean by that.
How do I know which data is used for the sound effect? Do I have to look at the data and copy it to another game while playing the sound effect?

Let's say if I were to change up the sound effects for Super Mario Bros 2 by using the sound effects from Super Mario Bros. To be specific, if I wanted to copy over the Super jump and the 1up sound effect from the first game and paste them to the second game. Would there be a way to do it from the apu registers? Would I have to do some coding, or is there something that I need to do by hand? Sorry for the lack of paragraphs. Keyboard wasn't working all that well.

Okay, so I found out if I am going to change sound effects for an NES game, I need to do disassembly of some sort, but specifically, how do I find the code to a certain sound effect?
