This is 1 of the most underrated games of its generation and would find a real audience, I hope.  Good luck!

As you can tell from their posts, they are doing the game justice with their care and attention to detail.  The product you receive will have no half-measures, if their past work and dedication is any indicator.

Thank you SO much.  I'll respond to your private message when I have a little time!

Warren, you have brilliant taste.  I see that it's Bruno from Hardcore Gaming 101 who wrote about it, so I'm not surprised, but I'm thrilled that someone else has heard of that.

Thanks again, translators!  You're genuinely the best sort of people.

Hello, totally just registered to stalk this thread better and to say how super happy I am someone has been working on this. ; v ;
I've been in and out of following Moon for awhile now and it wasn't until very recently I decided to look up for a possible translation of this game...
And so here we meet!!  :-[
I've actually looked at nearly nothing about this game's story. I wanted everything to be completely new to me when I play.
I thought that would be for the best? I also was thinking that maybe, I might record myself playing this game. I might even make it my first LP...
Whatever goes, I'm just really excited!!

You won't be the only 1 to give it a go!  I strongly encourage it.  I don't recommend you reveal the story without the game, but if you want to convince someone skeptical of its merits who (like me) doesn't mind plot revelations (my NeoGAF topic aside), this reveals EVERYTHING in narrative form: http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/moon.htm .  Be strong, though!

Oh, an update!

I still feel terrible about demonstrating interest and then dropping out (as it turns out, my recent promotion and work schedule would have changed my decision from "feel bad, but have to do so" to "absolutely cannot contribute," anyway).  I'm still ready to sacrifice sleep and do some promotion during any workday breaks that materialize, and I'm obviously rooting for you!

It sounds like SteveMartin has a special project.  Well, I know that some other people have a secret special project, too.  I can't wait for people to see what they are!  Go, Moon Team, Go!

Hey, all.  I sent SteveMartin a YouTube message.  Ugh, the commute and election stuff makes me forget that I have to check in regularly.  Apologies!  (And, hey, Parrotshake!)  Definitely send me a summary of your names conversation when you're done.  Like I said, it's your prerogative to change them being the main stakeholders, but I'd at least like to read how you got to name alterations.

And I'm raring to go on text review!

Sounds good, as always.

I may as well just post my ideal in case I can't jump on here again during the day.  You know Volokhonsky and Pevear?  She translates, he rewrites with a ear for tone and consistency across translations, she gets a final veto.  I would love to be Pevear.  Again, I'm not making demands so much as speeding up the communication process.  I hope it's not too forward.

http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/moon.htm Is that translated walkthrough yours or hers, though?  Because it's great (the use of sound cues was fun, too)!

Um, 1 question?  If it needs to be through e-mail, let me know.  I ALSO am not trying to twist arms since I haven't done more than publicize it and I'm ALSO not, "THE PURITY OF THE TEXT MUST NOT BE SACRIFICED," guy.  I just got through reading this http://www.amazon.com/That-Fish-Your-Ear-Translation/dp/0865478570 , in fact.  That said, the names were changed to accomodate American references and the English language.  Is it a hassle to create 2 separate patches, 1 "localized names" and 1 "literal names?"  I ask because Lovedelic games only get more Japanese from here and I don't think a quick jump to Wikipedia would disturb anyone's experience.  It would be useful for cross-cultural dialogue and search engines, too, if proper nouns were kept standardized.  I know the reaction to my type of suggestion is overwhelmingly negative in some circles, so just know that I'm not trying to be a douche.

Thank you so much for doing this, sincerely.

2 other brief bits:
Send me a private message on YouTube if I'm allowed into the e-mail loop.
Am I allowed to publicize this effort now on NeoGAF, GameFAQs, Twitter, and the like?  Is it premature?

Again, thanks, thanks, thanks!

Can I show my face here?  Hey, guys!  I'm GhaleonQ/theq66/SketchesOfMoondays.  I won't bore you with the details of my life.  While I don't have the time to do heavy-lifting on playthroughs, but I will edit and punch up the text with total, hysterical enthusiasm.

Guys, thank you so much for nailing this.  I sincerely appreciate it.  I'm sure Wyrdwad (now at XSeed!), Parrotshake, and the rest do, too.

Maybe as a digestif, you can take on all 10 LINES OF JAPANESE in U.F.O.: A Day In The Life and L.O.L.: Lack Of Love?  IF YOU DARE.
