What do you think of this? It doesn't have the extra little cutouts that your Z has, but it has to be better than just blanking out the model completely. Here's a link to an IPS patch. It shouldn't change anything except the X model, so you should be able to apply it directly to your hack if you want.

I was kind of intrigued when I saw DarkSamus's post breaking down the model data and tried my hand at making a model editor (which is what I used to make that Z model).

It looks nicer than it actually is, I think. It's not super user-friendly (clicking in the viewports does nothing, you have to use the controls on the right to edit everything), and it probably has some bugs (the perspective rotation doesn't behave quite like you'd expect because I don't know jack about 3D math), but it does work.

Right now the only model it can edit is the title screen X. I have no idea where any of the other model data is in the ROM. If DarkSamus (or anybody) knows the location for any of the other model data I might be able to make them all editable. For this hack in particular it might be nice to change the X head model from the intro.

Here's a link to the editor if anyone wants to mess around with it. It comes with the Z model, and a model of a cube.

EDIT: The IPS patch I linked originally didn't work. I should have tested it before uploading. I've edited that link to one that should work.

Sorry for my late response but Wow, that looks great. I applied the patch to the hack and it looks good too.

So this replaces X with Zero?

Yes, that is correct. Just like the first hack MegamanZ, Zero is the main character and X is the one who died. You have to find all of X's parts.

The 3D 'X' is not a graphic (none of the wireframes are). I'm trying to figure out the data format so the 'X' can be edited.

What is left?... Some more sprite editing, and dialogue. I do need some help with one particular issue.
During the intro when the Megaman X title is introduced, the "X" is in 3D. I figured since I cannot change the 3D "X" into a 3D "Z", I can however change the palette of the "X" to black to match the background. Only problem is I cannot find the corresponding palette. I have tried using "snespal" to locate it but I was unsuccessful. Can anyone help me out?

Yes, it should be compatible. I remember seeing a Peach ability patch at SMWC.

This is a cool idea. Playing as Peach is awesome!  This hack will give me a excuse to play Super Mario World.

This is a minor complaint, put Fire Peach's dress is white and red, not fully red:

It's also very strange Peach calling Mario as "Super Mario".  I can't recall any games where people do call him that.

Based on the YT vid, my question was partially answered..

Seems really well done! When she takes to the air, it's pretty cool! My kids are digging on this. Hoping those high-pitched pops and clicks were your system/emulator. If the games does that on it's own it's going to be a bit irritating.

The pops and clicks are fron the recording not the actual game. I made this hack for my daughter so I am happy your kids like it.

Here is a hack of Super Mario world I did where I replaced Mario's sprites with Princess Peach. I know this type of hack has been done before, but I figured I would use the actual sprite of Peach in the game and just update it a bit.

I change a couple of things like dialogue, removal of two players, etc....but essential it is still the same game you know and love.

What is the DX for? Deluxe I suppose lol...I just named it that to differentiate between the other Peach World hacks out there.

I was originally not going to release this hack, but due to some requests for it I have changed my mind.

Let me know if you are interested in testing it.

You won't have to worry about that with future updates. I'm using the No-Intro ROM for all my work and simply re-importing whatever changes falchion22 made that are going to be kept. :thumbsup:

Excuse me, but which rom version should I apply the patch to? I downloaded the same game on five different sites and their respective CRC32, MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 verification codes does not match the one indicated in the txt document. As a reference I leave the specs of the site

Which rom I use?

Make sure you are using the USA version and that it is a smc file and not a sfc file.
Also I found the rom by using google. Also another good tool to use is "hashmyfiles". It tells you all the information for the rom you have.

It is 95% done. DarkSamus993 is working on improving this hack even further. I do not know how long it will take him, but from from what he has shown me, it looks impressive.

Also, when you leave feedback, let me know what you liked and disliked about the hack. There is always room for improvement.

Quick update. So I am thinking about releasing an early build of the hack for some feedback. There are still some errors and glitches that need to be addressed, Darksamus is already working on revising these issues to improve the hack even further.  Let me know if anyone is interested in trying out Megaman Bass V1.0

I like to ask how did you hack the titlescreen & get weapon screen? I think the graphics of those are compressed.  :huh:

As Darksamus stated, Denim created a decompression/compression utility for MM7.

I need a game genie code to disable the rush coil and rush search.
I have found par codes but they are written to ram. I want to permantly disable those abilities within the rom itself.

Final update: I may be the first person to successfully put one of my own original songs into Super Mario World! My theory worked, and after watching countless tutorials, I inserted my song into the first level.

For your question, try to use Geiger's Snes9X debugger. Then identify the graphic in question is which BG layer by pressing key 1, 2, 3,... The "what's used" button lets you know the BG's tileset, tilemap. Then press "Show Hex" --> Vram and jump to the address shown in "What's used".
You better read the game log and search for some keyword combos: $2116, $2118, $420B,...
From these information, you can search backward to get to the data you want.
