News Submissions / Re: Site: IRC Chat is moving!

The IRC channel is being preserved, however it is no longer active. Our official chat has migrated to Discord.

The SD3/ToM in the collection is a hacked ROM. There's images of it running in emulators and people have been able to run it on hardware with flashcarts.

If you do go with ImgBurn, I suggest grabbing a copy from an official mirror. The download from the official site has adware in the installer.

No. They can turn into birds. They just have to face a trial in which they're tested to see if they can handle it. But there's a downside; once they turn into birds, they forget about being human and everything.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Games with fixed RNGs

There's a real time speedrun that abuses the RNG to beat Dragon Warrior 1 at a low level. Not as fast as the tool assisted speedrun, though.

Blame TOSE. The music engine in the GBA version is poorly coded so it's generating so much lag.

Gaming Discussion / E3 Thread.

Sony's show is now over. We're in day 2 of E3 and it's appearing to be very underwhelming to me so far. Nothing's really grabbing me by the hair and saying "You must buy me!".

I think you mean the X68000 version is unfair. The remixed CC mode is quite manageable.
The original X68000 version (not the classic mode on chronicles) is much easier. Almost everything does only 1 damage.

Super Famicom Dragon Quest VI. It's beatable, but a lot of dialogue is missing.

Gaming Discussion / Re: The hardest game you ever played.

It would be awesome if a game was titled "alternating dragons". I am not 100% sure but I suspect they wanted to have 2 player mode but couldn't due to time restrictions for development.
Nah. It was hardware restrictions.

The hardest one? Tough question. But I'd say The Combatribes (arcade) is among them. It's also by Technos. Yes, the same creators of Double Dragon and River City Ransom.

It's also a beat 'em up. There are 6 levels total, and you start the game with 150 hit points. Thing is, you carry on that HP through the ENTIRE game. There are no means to regenerate it, and clearing a level doesn't heal you either - you begin the next one with the same amount you had after finishing the last. Enemies are pretty aggressive and it's really hard to avoid getting countered when you're hitting them, and nearly impossible against bosses. Plus, on the last level you have to beat ALL previous bosses in a boss rush. You only have 500 seconds to do that, and they have quite a bit of HP - making it also a battle against time. Heck, the final boss at the end is brutal enough...

So yeah, It's a harsh game. Even for arcade standards. There's a video of someone beating it on YouTube, but they save-state'd their way through (the final level was cleared with only 11 seconds remaining, btw). I don't think it's humanly possible to beat this with 1 coin legit.
It's possible. It just takes hours and hours of practice. I watch people on Twitch practice arcade games to 1CC them all the time.

If I want to play Android games on my PC, I use the Nox App Player.
I don't know of any decent emulators for earlier mobile phones, but this might be a start.
