DLPB fixed that part severely. Now you need to be super accurate to get the best result, and that means:

-Touching other soldiers is not allowed
-You need to quickly place yourself at the right spot
-Your steps must be synchronized with the other soldiers steps
-The rifle movements must be synchronized with the other soldiers as well

Currently thinking about relaxing it a little bit as many people complained about the difficulty.

Geez. I guess that explains why it took me around forty tries (yes, I did count) before I could even make it into the formation. I would definitely appreciate any sort of difficulty reduction there (or better yet, exactly the same as the original), as I already disliked that part in vanilla FFVII, and I'm sure that I'm not alone there.

Something that I forgot to mention last page: I have no idea whether it was a glitch or just me playing extremely poorly (or both), but because the text boxes during the marching sequence in Junon have been removed, I couldn't for the life of me manage a score above the initial 20% no matter what rhythm I pressed Circle in. Feel free to inform me on what I was potentially doing wrong.

Ditto; I see absolutely no issue with "Flower Seller".

Before posting things like this, you really need to Google it first.

Lady and ladies are both used.  There is no right way.  See Collins and Oxford dictionary - this is true of America as well.

Three Dimensional with or without hyphen is fine.

I checked google and dictionaries and forums before making those decisions.

And into and in to depend on the sentence. I'd need to see the sentence you think is incorrect.

I understand. The "in to/into" instance I'm referring to is during the cutscene upon first entering Gongaga; when Reno tells Rude that Elena will be let down by the fact that Rude is attracted to someone else, Rude says "Nah, she's in to Tseng."

I should also add that I haven't done any Fort Condor stuff yet.

No more bugs, right? Should I update main page now?

I'm only up to the Temple of the Ancients so far, but I've been playing on the Beetle PSX HW core through RetroArch and have experienced no gameplay glitches as far as I can tell, just very minor quirks in the script (i.e. "lady's man" instead of "ladies' man", "in to" instead of "into", "three dimensional" instead of "three-dimensional", etc.) that probably won't bother most people and might be best taken up with the original creators of the Beacause retranslation.

I'll edit this post to keep track of any errors/quirks I find. Currently up to Junon.

  • One of Cloud's lines during the Kalm flashback (while him, Tifa, and Sephiroth are at the Mako spring) is "Now you mention it...", though it should probably be "Now that you mention it...", since it's immediately followed by him asking a question in the same sentence.

I am so overjoyed that this is finally out!

Been using this R06g patch for my very first playthrough of FF7. Did the entirety of Midgar yesterday and so far it's been nothing short of a blast.

However, I may or may not have found an error. During the crossdressing sequence in Wall Market, after I got the 200 gil from the vending machine and gave it to the materia shop owner, one of his lines afterwards to get the Diamond Tiara (I unfortunately did not get a screenshot of it) started with "something something: Gold Edition", followed by something about "I heard that guy has been up to no good", which led me to believe that it might have been a mistake.

All that being said, I can't wait to see the rest of what this game and this translation has in store. I extend my sincerest thanks to both GreenGoblin and the original creators of the Beacause retranslation, and also look forward to what the future holds for it. Thank you!

Yes. Testing phase has begun and I'll try to release R06g on the next few days.
I wanted to update this tomorrow as a Christmas present to you all, but this is a nightmare and when I fix one problem three more arise.

Awesome, awesome news! Can't wait to play this very soon!

I have to say that I've been really enjoying this retranslation so far. It's been a blast seeing all the new flavor that has been added to every last line of the script!

However, I seem to have unfortunately encountered a bug. As soon as I first meet Lisa (and by extension, General Cantaloupe) in Chapter 5, all text related to the both of them seems to... overflow? Underflow? Whatever is happening, something seems to be very wrong:

I should note that I tested both the BPS and XDELTA versions of the patch, and the exact same thing happens on each. I have not played beyond this point on either in order to properly report this.

Been playing for less than 30 minutes and already found out that TundMan can glitch out of the arena into the ceiling because of the way the room is made up, making the fight unwinnable if you don't have anything that can hit him up there (which I don't), forcing a reset.  :-\

Well, it's not like that link matters in the first place, because last time I checked, ".fm2" is a movie file for FCEUX, not a valid patch format.

Great news. I'm very much looking forward to playing through this game for the very first time with this new translation!

I just finished my playthrough of this hack as well as FF6: TWUE, and I must say that it was a fantastic experience all around. Looking back on the dialogue of the original SNES release after doing so, it's genuinely alarming how stunted and almost robotic the original dialogue feels, even putting aside the censorship of things like death, religion, alcohol, and so on. The new script is absolutely fantastic all around, and I don't have a single negative thing to say about any of it.

Above all, I wish that there was a version of this patch that didn't have all of the various buffs and additions that Project II added, such as...

...the ability to use Sight and Warp in battle,
the B button dash (on a side note, it would be great if this was optional in FF6: TWUE, too!),
the buffed weapons, whether they be improved stats (all Bow weapons) or added spell effects (Power Staff/Flame Whip/Wooden Mallet),
the buffed Goblin summon,
the buffed character abilities (Heal/Sing/Cry/Pray/Regen) as well as magic (Protect/Shell/Curse replacing Dispel),
the unused weapons (Assassin Dagger and HandAxe),
the Hummingway Home offering X-Potions/Sirens instead of Hi-Potions/Bestiaries...

...and so on. I can understand the hidden passages in caves and dungeons still being highlighted, as ff4kster does not have the ability to edit the appearances of individual tiles, which is a great shame, and I wish that they could be properly hidden. (Speaking of, has the issue with the Sylvan Cave/Eidolon Passage damage tiles not making a sound been fixed yet?) Putting that aside, I always wished that there was a hack of SNES FF4 that was essentially just the Japanese version with an improved and modernized English script, and while J2Evisceration was a step in the right direction, it still misses marks, such as completely excising Kain's backstory about his father in Baron Castle, and having excessive use of capitalization, ellipses, and exclamation points in places where they do not belong.

This hack is extremely good, and I would still without a doubt consider it the definitive way to play FF4. The restored maps (love the Developer's Room!), graphics, monster stats, weapons, items, chest contents, and dummied out character abilities as well as the various bugfixes are nothing short of spectacular, and I supremely wish that my dream of a version of Namingway Edition with gameplay and appearance that is 100% faithful to the Japanese FF4 will ever come to be, but I still highly applaud all of the effort that went into this regardless, as with FF6: TWUE. Thank you!

Wood Man's stage even uses the same rooftop sprites from Cross-Country.
